Re: More ARTS / emmanuel fun

I think there is a bit of a misconception about how trends work. As if people delibarately choose trendy music, clothes or whatever to be hip, popular or fit in the group. But there is a whole marketing machine behind all the trends that employs enormous resources to make your brain like those thing...

Re: Social Media as a required tool in Dance Music

I’m afraid that’s not what’s happening. According to that post I can’t see anymore he’s just not getting offers. Even if he works it out for his benefit it’s not really the point. I’m not worried about him, I’m not a fan. I’m just worried that the quotes from the article in the OP might be actually ...

Re: Social Media as a required tool in Dance Music

I just hope this bs doesn't drive off the artists who actually love the music. A freind told me today sleeparchive is doing just that. Continue against the grain. Keep the music alive. Fuck fame. Fuck the bs. Roger (Sleeparchive) is a cool dude. I once had a cool night at the Tresor bar with him an...

Re: Techno Gossip

I don't know what promo mailings you're using but I'm afraid that with those big mainstream techno names all courtesy you can get comes in an automatic template response. Like I wouldn't be surprised if that "downloaded for ITCHY Hawtins" feedback were just a copy+paste thing.

Re: Techno Gossip

But you don't really send them your tracks for free out of kindness of your heart, do you? You want exposure for your music and you give your track for free in exchange. I think it has to do with it mostly being lesser known producers sending tracks to the better known DJs. They know that it's actua...

Amazing track. Love the sound. And the arrangement kept me entertained all the way. I tried to spot some issues but everything sounds good to me.

Re: Jordanneke - B's Groove

Great track. I love the vibe. I think the kick is a tad too heavy for such a track. I got an impression that it's mixed in a more techno way than house. But also I don't know much about house. Arrangement wise there were two moments that I found odd. 1:25 if it was in a dj set I'd think it's another...

Re: 11_001

It's a very nice track. I like the synth that comes in the breakdown. However I feel that it doesn't reach its full potential. Like it could open up a bit more at some point and push the other synths to the back. It also has some harsh distortion in the highs which I think doesn't fit the general ae...

Re: Grounded

Great atmospheres as always. The moment you drop that hat in 0:30 is very cool too. I feel that those are the strongest elements in the track and you sell them a bit too early In my opinion. It’s not really going anywhere from there. I also like the tibre of the kick but it gets burried under all th...

Re: Short Term Satisfaction

I love the drones, very well crafted. Like the others said the bass is too heavy. To me even more than just a bit. I’d also see the percussion getting some more attention. Now it’s very light and pushed to the background so it doesn’t balance the low end very well. Also the patterns are pretty basic...

Re: Jordanneke - Jubal

I think the vocals work great. The tail of the kick sounds a bit rigid to me. I would prefer it to sound more like an actual drum than a synthesised percussion. I’m also not a big fan of the pad but it’s a personal preference I guess. But overall I enjoyed it very much, I will come back to it defini...

And that is me on the lyrics, was fun making up a little rap hehe.
I can’t imagine working with my own vocals producing a track. Hearing my voice recorded one time is already painful. But your rapping works very well. Even though I can’t understand a word.

I just got to listen to Overthrow. Love it, great energy, gritty, the vocals work so well with the synth. Also that there is just a few elements but it’s entertaining all the way through. I know I’m digging out a thread from september, but man what a track!

Re: Adding some crisps to ur hats

Nice tip. I'll try it out. Another thing I like to do instead of applying lfo is to go into envelope mode in your midi clip and do some free hand drawing in the pencil mode there. I guess it's more useful for processing single hits than adding randomness to full loops but still comes in handy when y...

Yeah, he was even playing on a label showcase night in my city a month ago. Techno doesn’t seem to be such a reputation game in this context.

Thanks for mentioning emmanuel’s case. I just read about this. Unbelievable. I especially like how he reacted to the whole thing.

Re: Patriek - Dreamer

I really like the track. There is not much I can add after all the feedback you got. The only thing that hasn't been mentioned and I had a problem with was the high end percussion in the first part. It seems a bit dry and rigid. When more elements come in later I don't mind it that much anymore but ...
