We built this peaceful place for you (early-techno-trance)
Hola muchachos ,
Glad to share some new stuff inside the subsekt vault.
Almost a side project with this track that was very influenced by 90s era.
To me it's still techno that comes with melodic moments (ethereal feeling).
Used a lot of pro-R reverb (fabfilter), a lot of diva (u-he) and a lot of ... i can't remember
Have fun !
Cheers

Re: We built this peaceful place for you (early-techno-tranc
The idea is nice but the mix feels quite muddy, everything except the small hihat sits in the mids. The bass is also a bit too rumbl-y and undefined. The kick lacks midrange and click - it has almost no definition above the lows. I think you could also be a bit more careful with the reverb, everything's in this huge space

I really like the melodic synth sounds, structure and progression, well done!

Once again I second everything that jedi mix-man dub dub says. It's just not defined enough.dubdub wrote:The idea is nice but the mix feels quite muddy, everything except the small hihat sits in the mids. The bass is also a bit too rumbl-y and undefined. The leads don't have enough space in the mix, they need some of the reverb equing away, and the the melodic lead especially needs some of the lows/mids taken away.
The kick has no real punch either.
Cool idea though, just need to work on the mix

Yay guys thks for this piece of advice.
I'll give another shot to fix these muddy things keeping' in mind the atmosphere i wanted to convey.
Quite clear with distance that relevant eqs' on reverbs should help !

NU version
Eq'ed carefully every reverbed element. kick has more mid high this time and is surely more defined. Guess melodic elements had a lot of benefit
from this re-mix since they stopped fighting against each other.

I dig this stuff. sounds sweet to my ears
yet I suggest letting it rest for half a year or something and then go back to the project, clean up a bit in the arrangement.
do not mix, do not master, all good. (I wish I could do it like this xD )
But it feels a bit like the stab can be put a bit later in the loop, to my likings, might be taste tough!
+1 good stuff
(listened a bit more) your bass and stab rise together.
What if u let em take turns ?
Like by just dragging the stab 1/2 of the loop to the right or left so the stab comes between 2 basses (on the 3))

Re: We built this peaceful place for you (early-techno-tranc
I think the reverb is still too much.
It's mixed better, much better, but the reverb is huge. Is it a send channel? It's just spread on too thick on the lead and the stab and the synth panned to the left.
I'd dial it back, decide which one of the elements you want massive, then adjust the others accordingly.
