EKT - Schaf im Wolfspelz
EKT - Schaf im Wolfspelz
A new track with soft and sharp elements.
Re: EKT - Schaf im Wolfspelz
Mix sounds solid but the highs are bit too agressive with the drums and all the noise going around. Needs some smoothing out, a bit of analog style saturation and gentle shelving should do the trick.

Re: EKT - Schaf im Wolfspelz
nice track in general, but some parts i didn't like it, for ex at 30secs i think its a snare that comes in, it kinda of hurts my ears, its too sharp. and in the dropdown theres a lot of high frequencies going on, you cant really focus on one particular sound. but nice structure and again, nice track in general.
Re: EKT - Schaf im Wolfspelz
yeah i agree with what has been said so far, the highs are muddy (if thats possible, but i guess you know what i mean) , especially in the part after the break.
Maybe shelf off a bit with eq and make sure that every sound has its space in the mix. might be convenient to even take out a sound or two.

Thanks guys..
I totally agree with all your arguments. It's too sharp.
I tried several volume changes, thinning out instruments
and hi shelvings before but then it was always kinda loosing the strength for me.
I have to try again.
It's always a challenge because I'm producing exclusively with Caustic on my phone.
The ear-hurting snare sound at 30 seconds must be the attack of the second bassdrum that's coming in there. I'll check that.

i m p r o v e d Schaf im Wolfspelz ?
I hope I did some improvements by reducing:
-that "snare-sounding" bassdrum attack (beginning at 0:30)
-the reverb roomsize for the clap in the main part (thought is was too much unnessessary noise)
-the overall midrange of the clap
-some high frequencies for melody in main part
and added a really little hi-shelv to the sum.

leaving it private for now - hopeing for someone listening once again

Re: EKT - Schaf im Wolfspelz
i like the end of the track most.
the lead is way too trancy for my taste after the break. but then towards the end its really good. id remake the whole track with the sounds from the end and variate/evolve them sligthly
