Two birds with one synth - Celome
Two birds with one synth - Celome
Hi subsekt community,
Two new projects that I'm pleased to share with you.
On these two projects I tried to use mostly external machines and record them live. Both tracks were produced around the prophet 5 that I recently picked up. The idea is to keep the original essence of the jam from which I started the exploratory sessions.
The first project is fairly classic in its conception for techno music. There's this fairly heavy mid-bass that I produced with the Model D (behringer) which contrasts with the bewitching/radiant pad made with the prophet. The whole thing is supported by some fairly classic 909 samples (saturation+reverb). Finally, a second percussive synth adds a mental touch with high resonance modulation.
The second project is less extensive in terms of elements and mainly focus on the energy part. The BPM is also higher than the first. The synth stabs evolve throughout the track, and I really took advantage of the prophet's poly-mod for that. This time, the drums come from my model:cycles, which really make this huge kick possible. I loved using Valhalla delay plugin on some elements notably automating the feedback knob for interesting soundscapes.
Plugin used: Valhalla supermassive/delay, Pro-R fabfilter, MJUC compressor, stock plugins Live 11, bitcrusher
Sorry for the links (these are private Soundcloud tracks...)
I hope you'll enjoy listening !

Re: Two birds with one synth - Celome
just listened to prophet - It's a very beautiful track, and I like all the musicality of it
I do think the kick could have a bit more weight to it. It's sort of snappy, but lacks a bit body in my ears (maybe a little boom in the drum bus, could solve that?). Besides that I think it's great

Thanks a lot!
I was wondering at the time whether I should put a sub bass underneath. Since you also raised the question, it's probably true
