my first track in a while that was made with hardware only, much more fun but also a bit rough around the edges

Groovy :D A bit heavy on the bass compared to classic tracks in the same style, but that's all right too. Thanks 4 sharing!

Thanks! Bass heavy because of the decay on the 808 kick I guess, I like it though.

I created a new version based on the recordings I had but with a bunch of fx and some resampled parts. Not sure which one I prefer but it was a lot of fun..

Nice detroit piece!
i also like both versions.

The initial one has the sharper and more raw drums which is nice imo.
But the synths sound just lovely in the second version, it feels alot rounder and whole also
So the second version with more raw drums would be perfect for me, but its already perfectly fine as is

Nice hypnotic and relaxing groove, like it alot

The softer synths on the dub version work nicely indeed. Sunrise vibes:)

Like both, but I prefer the dub version <3

Commenting on dub version.

Mix sounds good, just a touch clinical i'd say. The 808/606 ish hats are a bit bright compared to the rest of the mix. Bassline could be a bit more perhaps. Transients on drums feel a touch raw overall.

I way prefer the dub4 version. Sounds a lot smoother and professional. The first version is a bit similar to G-Man - Quo Vadis (a classic techno track) btw, the main riff is the same more or less.

Thanks guys, I agree that the the dubby version is better. And yes indeed barfunkel, that main synth does sound a lot like quo vadis - i have played that track a 1000 times and really love it, but I did not connect the dots until now.
