Back in February of this year, my friend/production partner Alter-Mind (Aydan) and I slogged out a super hard-hitting, dark and ominous 133 minutes of techno for our first Bomphcast mix - released under our techno duo outfit 'Smoke'.
The resulting podcast ended up being the longest and quite possibly the most "charred" mix that the series had release to date.

But this time around, I decided to diverge a bit from my usual style of mixing mostly dark and industrial techno with infusions of the atmospheric and noise. After being somewhat inspired by listening back to a handful of mixes by infamous techno DJ, Surgeon, I aimed for a significantly quicker mix than I'm accustomed to - with this podcast clocking in at 136BPM.

The first half hour of the mix takes a visit through some tracks that I consider to be more "traditionally techno"/"classic techno", vibing off the feelings I get from Surgeon mixes. Then, as the mix progresses, I build up the pace and intensity of track selections - shifting more towards my original style of dark, industrial and heavily atmospheric tracks. I've designed the mix to take the listener on a journey: starting off more clubby and melodic, moving through deep and lush soundscapes, and finishing up in a collection of bass heavy, hypnotic and atmospheric tunes. If you love techno, you'll definitely be appreciative of the selection of tunes I've programmed here.
