90s/00s sets

was trawling through some backup drives and found a batch of my dj sets recorded at clubnites in dublin in the late 90s - mid 00s. the quality is 'ok', mixing questionable but the tracks still sound great. ill stick a few up on SC. this one is all electro from that period...

loving this vibe, very cool

i like the mix of more abstract/broken beat stuff with some of the octave bassline tracks that i associate more with early electroclash, two areas that probably wouldn't overlap so much today

Began listening to this yesterday.. but had to stop & talk to people instead.

Gonna mow the lawn to it today. LOL @ the request for MF at the end. You could have 99 all time classics in there & that would always be the one that people ask about. Hard to follow that. Good job it was at the end

Aye.. havent heard that electroclash-era tune in years.. with the big bassline & french vocals. Have it here but cant remember the name of the guy. Dominator EP or Domination EP I think? I was shit at mixing.. but that one used to really kill me. Was good to hear it done properly! haha

Really enjoyed that. Lasted exactly the front & back cuts.

So much Korg ER1 in several of those tracks.. probably ES1 em1 & ea1 also. Don't think they get the credit they deserve. Really cool.

Was getting through the 3rd.. and heard Pollon.. fucking lovely track & that lords of afford tune is mega.

Where were you buying your records back then? I was probably still buying mainly in spindizzy.

I sometimes happened upon a little bit of electro.. which I loved .. but when I eventually got bored of the mediocrity of the techno I was chasing, I started listening to Jazz in a big way. Happy, challenging & funky music.

Almost stopped listening to new electronic music for a few years.

pollen is great indeed, tresor re-released that stuff a few yrs back.... was good to see.

at this time the stuff i was playing out was mostly got from haywire, hardwax & juno. would have been shopping in spindizzy, d1, road & tower in dublin too. although for electro you needed to buy online mostly.... d1 would have the detroit stuff though.

there are more alright... need to free up SC space, am maxed
