A Barfunkel retrospective on Bandcamp
As I'm ditching the Barfunkel moniker this year in favour of something else (and hopefully something better), I put out the best bits I've made between 2009 and 2018. It's basically 3 albumworths of stuff.
From Järvenpää to Eternity I - The Hardware Years consists of a bunch of hardware, straight to 2-track live jams created between 2009 and 2015. Mostly Elektron gear but all kinds of random synths, FX and stuff in there.
From Järvenpää to Eternity II - Computer Time Baby documents my (quite difficult) transition to a 100% ITB musician. Tracks are made between 2016 and 2018, using Reaper and mostly free plugins.
The Nintendo Years is a collection of tracks I made at some point, maybe in 2010 or 2011, using nothing but a humble handheld Nintendo DS, recorded through a cheap DJ mixer, straight to 2-track. No chiptune though, I was using this Korg M1 emulator program to make house, techno and drum&bass.
