If you want to be involved in the Subsekt label, in any capacity, to submit music, artwork, take part in the democratic process, or join the core team please nominate yourself in this thread.

You must be a part of the community, but there is no minimum number of posts you need to be a part.
Enthusiasm and contribution to the community is how we assess entry.

So just post in this thread if you want in.


The Subsekt label is a community based label aiming to represent the spirit of the community of Subsekt - The spirit of creative underground music, adverse to commercial music biz tripes, open communication and inclusivity.

All music will be assessed on its own merits, whether you have released before or not is irrelevant.

Ready for all kinds of stuff, also for submitting music (when finished). Except artwork though, I think there are more experienced members on that area. I'd be more than happy to join the core team, like I said I have some experience with digital distribution and bandcamp.

I have experience working with the PPL backend, compiling a release, generating ISRC, registering Recordings and working with a digital distribution service [Distrokid specifically]. Anything I can do along them lines I’ve got the time. Also up for submitting some artwork and music on occasion

came a bit late into that other topic, apologies.

If I'm allowed, I'd love to have a vote in the core team.

I don't think I'm any good with many of the practical issues (words maybe, when trimmed down by others), but if anything, I think I can throw in a somewhat valid opinion from a more outsiders point of view/perspective. I always kind of just do my own thing and don't give a fuck about genres/styles/or whatever is in fashion (hell, I still wouldn't know what label I would ever fit on enough to send my music to, and I've looked into many suggestions)
and if anything, I think that is a somewhat important value of this subsekt label thing.

Ow, and a thing I just thought about.
If we do extra's, why not also think about some producer extra's ?
I made a live pack once (like 2 years ago, maybe 3 by now?).
I kind of planned to make one again some day.
I just throw in a bunch of clips and some presets for Live's Analog.
Add it as an extra for some release.

I'm quite sure more experienced people like Mattias or Steve could do a similar thing.

Then why not give out some little tools here or there, as little extra's.

I'm throwing it in here :
I'm totally with Steve on changing the art work according to the release.

Yes, obviously, always make it clear that it's a subsekt thing,
but I think one of the main ethics about this label should be that the artists don't need to make any sacrifices when it comes to their music or the art work attached to the release.
(I get so turned off by all these vinyls that just get released with a generic cover. Hell, some times it's just in the dust cover.)
And when I was discussing a release with a big label (at least in numbers, name didn't really ring a bell with me much, but yeah, what do I know) a few years back, I just walked away after a few weeks because I was so fed up with how I was asked to change my tracks to make it all have more market value.
Fuck that shit.

In this day and age where it's all about ego and image, and people think they just need to get a release out there asap,
so we constantly get bombed by fucktards of tracks, and, at the moment, a non-stop big room techno storm,
I say we do it right, or we don't do it at all.
Show them it can also NOT be about the money and the business, but just pure creativity.
