Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
Re: Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
Only true for a very specific kind of record (ie. certain deep techno, tech house, deep house electro etc.). The vast majority of 90s and 2000s techno/house is still under 5 euros.WOLF! wrote:I've been on Discogs for more than 15 years. And people who sell vinyl check out Discogs for pricing; it's insane nowadays.
Re: Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
Plenty of 90s gems lurking on discogs for less than £2

Have to agree tbh. I've bought loads of 90's 00's for very little. Early UK hardcore though is a different matter. Try finding a Tom and Jerry release for under hundreds of £'sdubdub wrote:Only true for a very specific kind of record (ie. certain deep techno, tech house, deep house electro etc.). Re: Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
Yeah, I've been buying on Discogs for about 6-7 years and the prices for 95% of the stuff I've bought (mostly 90s / 2000s techno, some dub techno, some house, some 90s UK garage, some 2000s prog) have remained more or less constant over the years. If you are trying to buy all the 90s hardcore, jungle, garage, electro and tech house that some famous DJ played and that everybody else wants you're going to have a bad time though. Especially super obscure limited 90s whitelabels have gotten ridiculous and a lot of them aren't even that good tbh. But even then, loads of labels have a bunch of 50+ euros records and then the rest is still cheap as hell. I guess the good thing that's come out of it is that lots of super obscure records are now getting reissues that would have never been touched previously and loads of artists that were mostly ignored in the 90s are back to releasing new music and have esentially gotten a second career.
Re: Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
In any case, I now have almost 14 thousand records on my Discogs wantlist (no duplicates - mostly 90s/2000s techno/house). I'll probably die before I'll ever run out of cheap records to buy
Re: Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
New Stef Mendesidis EP is so good. Had some of these tracks on repeat for days now.

Re: Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
Yeah, I quite like 'Inertial Force'. Breath of fresh air as far as straight techno goes, with all the lame unfunky crap floating around right now.
Re: Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
Yeah, and i love how they are fast. I personally want a resurgence of fast techno. Stuff under 130 makes me yawn these days.
Ive become too adapt to 133+ techno now. There is just a certain energy captured in the mid-130's region that you dont get with slower tempos, imo.

Re: Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
You guys are right but I've just noticed that the prices of those wanted record went up allot over time (like 'vintage' gear).Mslwte wrote:Have to agree tbh. I don't own all those cheap gems so I'm currently buying in the 'under 5 euro' range which makes me very happy knowing what I get for my money.
Some of those wanted records I will never own because I'm not crazy to pay that money for it... .
Re: Your favourite grooves (Track thread)
