Yeah Man.. I used to love when he'd play the records at the wrong speed. He was always doing it.

Remember once he played something at 33 - then 45 - then 33 - then said that he knew 45 was the wrong speed, but he preferred it that way lol

Great guy!

Man.. We must have been listening to it in different corners of Longford at the same time pretty much :)

I honestly thought that I was the only one that listened to him. Certainly among my mates anyway.. cos it was near impossible to get a reception. I got my dad to put an aerial & booster up in the attic for me. Theres love for ya haha.

something tells me your da was a fan!
I could only get a clear signal at home in one corner of the room, never figured out why.
lived in the u.k. for a couple of years which sorted the reception problem!
I remember hearin a lot of justin berkovi tracks at the time, followed by the fall or some godspeed you black emperor.
haha what a combo ..

The Fall.. Yeah class!

He always used to play this Scottish fella too.. Ivor something. He would speak over a kids organ/keyboard in a thick scottish accent. He was a poet or summat.

happy times. Would always listen with an open mind.

Semi interesting story:

Drumcree was happening a few years ago.. and as it happened, on a Saturday.. and probably in July..

I stuck in a tape randomly while doing some sorting in the house. Was JP & I went about grand.. until the news came on the tape.

It was from his saturday show & it was reporting the standoff at drumcree!!!

WTF! I had to stop for a second & try and work out why this dead mans show on a cassette tape was saying something that I had been watching on the tv earlier in the day. Incredible coincidence lolol

I must have sent him about 5 tapes of different bands I was in - never played - but he did give us a mention at concerning our Ronnie Scotts stunt - he chuckled
