Life on the internet..
Life on the internet..
I was thinking about how we'll probably never know if some of our internet buddies die and stuff.
Remember seeing some people post on a forum once about a young guy who had got knocked down. Also recall reading about someone who had been sent to prison for murder. It's a funny old world. Just got me thinking about how some people post for a while then you never see them again. There has to be a bit of a statistic in there somewhere.
What should you do? If you are making a will, or going on a long haul flight, should you leave a list of websites, email a/c's and passwords behind for people to inform your second life?

I think Facebook killed part of the Internet's beauty, which is that when you're gone, you're gone. No drama, no fuzz. I wouldn't want the Internet to become a "second real life" of sorts, but I guess that's just me.
Re: Life on the internet..
Suppose... But tbh.. without the internet, I wouldn't have met all you wonderful people. Call me soft for getting attached

That was emlyn. One of the craziest things to happen for a long time.ICN wrote: Also recall reading about someone who had been sent to prison for murder.
The guy used to play for us at our parties in Brighton, and we new him quite well.
Apparently he was a ass, but always really polite to us because we were "old skool" from the London raves.
All of us kept him out of our personal lives due to his rep.
The murder he committed was 3 doors up the road from my best mate who lives 10 mins up the road rom me.
Neither of us knew he lived in our area. It was all really weird, but I'm glad I didn't socialise with him.
I did go to to one day of the trial at the old bailey though. Petty weird to see him there, in tears. It was a sorta car crash thing to do, but I thought how many people get to see a murder trial when they know the murderer.
Very weird.
The whole event, what came to light, is an unbelievable story in itself.
Sorry to derail the thread....

That's what I was wondering....John have you been drinking?
FB does make you wonder tho sometimes, you see folks that are staying up all night posting away right thru and making less and less sense (obviously fucked out their tits)- and that goes on to week nights as well, then you don't see nowt from them for ages. Makes me think they must have had a psychotic episode or something and are in rehab.... Or maybees they just work night shift and are bored stupid - you would never know

Re: Life on the internet..
This is a depressing thread to make my weekend
Actually I know a guy from FB who got nicked for indecent pictures of children - he lived very near me but found out through local press - his profile was already full of people wishing him a warm welcome when he got to prison
And yes I do have a plan if something does happen too me

Re: Life on the internet..
Yeah the internet has been good to me.
I've met very few people in normal life such as education or work who share the same musical interests.
I've just been asked by a mate of 15 years to be his best man, it was funny to think he was the very first person I had met who shared my passion and tastes for music. He was the reason I spent my student loan on turntables.
What the internet has been great for is following up on first meets in clubs. I've met some great people over the years on nights out, but in the old days it felt a bit weird to call up, or send a text to some random bloke, also it was costing me phone credit back then
