Techno wise I tend to mainly listen to Shed these days, and then the occasional mix from people I like... Getting a little burned out on what is popular in techno these days.
Shed made some of the best tunes I've ever heard.
When he hits that sweet spot between really amazing beats and something almost IDM atmospheres... It doesn't get much better!

That sounds like my bag - any album /track recommendations?

Also quite burnt out by current techno...

waaaaaay late, but:

In general I think he produces on a very high level! Personal favourite is 'The Killer', but his latest 'Oderbruch' was also really good :)

Got recommended Talismann's "Percussion" series - fuck me that's great! It's just one great idea after the other - nothing super fancy, but just holding on to an idea that works. Can recommend.

I was reviewing a celebration of Iannis Xenakis' 100th birthday yesterday (not sure if that was actually his birthday).

One of the pieces they performed was Psappha - an absolutely astonishing piece of rhytmical music! It's based on the rhytm schemes of Sappho's poetry (psappha is an old spelling), and it really demands something of the performer:

There's a bunch of sets from the closing parties on youtube, just search 'Tresor closing 2005'. Steve Bicknell, Chris Liebing, DJ Rush, Joey Beltram, Paul Kalkbrenner...... there's a few I like but the Alan Oldham one is doing it for me right now.

I rarely hear new techno I really like but this is great. Probably my favorite techno track of the year.

It just undressed all of a sudden and was wearing a trance mankini! I didn't know where to look so I thought the best thing to do was to run out of the room...

I'm going to listen to more Rodhad. Been watching random clips from him in his studio and seems like an interesting guy in his attitude to making techno ..

To my ears it's a very 90's or early 2000's sounding techno track. Reminds me of a few classic tracks from that era, such as Underworld - Two Months Off without the vocals. I

I also thought of two months off - the synth sound is very similar :)
