HOLY SHIT. The whole album is the most beautiful thing I've heard all year.

No real standout track on this LP so maybe a bit off topic, but the LP as a whole is just great in my ears!

I think this thread has changed from tunes that really "Wow" you, to just, shit you like currently.
Might change the thread title.....
So on that note, here is some shit I like currently.
Nice little bit of techno, the whole EP is pretty good, not quite another generic "dark" drone noise wash.
Nothing groundbreaking, but a nice solid punchy sound with some interesting little tricks and a good hard stomp.
The only Techno which wows me these days (and the only Techno I listen to anyways) is Steve Bicknell stuff, whether it be himself or stuff his label puts out.
I feel my love for Techno is fading away more and more as I can't cope with all the bullshit around it.

I think if you concentrate on anything for too long you can get burnt out from it or rather over exposed.

Honestly I didn't concentrate much on techno through my whole life. Techno never had that much impact on me that Punk,Hardcore,Metal,Reggae/Ska,Soul or Hip-Hop had. The more I think about it the more it makes sense that I find techno less and less interesting.
I like to get shitfaced at techno parties in crap city but that's it basically. I always laugh at people when people talk about the deeper meaning of techno or when producers give their tracks ultra deep/wanna be political names.
I just ended up making techno as it's the easiest genre of them all.
I think I'm done again with techno (like I was in the beginning of year 2000)..

I just saw Iron Maiden. Miles better than any techno party I've been to for a long long time.
I still love techno, it's harder to find really different interesting stuff for sure, everyone is playing the popularist make whatever sound is hot game, but there is a strong underground like any genre.
All genres have its mainview shit.
You can write a punk tune in 2 minutes after all.
Me and the band do, and that's the beauty of it. Every song we wrote has more meaning than any shitty track I fiddled together.
Don't get me wrong, there are decent chaps in techno land but I just don't feel all this that comes with it. To me it's more plastic than modern pop music (which can be pretty clever from production point of view) these days. I mean, just look at all this dark, dark, superdark, masks robes fuckery.
I always thought techno was for the fun. If I want to show off how depressed i'am I'll go to a fuckin goth show..
Techno lost the funk long time ago, I'm okay with that.
Whatever.....

Techno has always had a serious side and a cheesy side and a commercial side, and an abstract side, and a melodic side etc etc
It's a very malleable form of music.
If you like the fun side then maybe go see what the old Stay Up Forever labels are doing.
