Interested in hearing ambient breakbeat techno, any ideas?
Ambient breakbeat techno sounds like a good idea to me, to listen, to play and make. Anyone got any commnets ideas and suggestions on this beyond the Aphex Twins 90's stable releases, progressive ideas and artists names welcomed.

Not quite breakbeat, but definitely Aphex Twin influenced

Asc, Sonitus Eco, Dino Sabatini and Edanticonf might be a start.

lol samnatur that worked pretty well.
on topic, for me there is no such thing as breakbeat techno because the 4/4 kick is the defining element of techno. what exactly do you mean? ambient with breakbeats? something like trip hop?

Maybe it was before they had cars and electricity, but anything goes now days. We have mobile phones and fast food and medicine and stuff.Chizmata wrote: no such thing as breakbeat techno because the 4/4 kick is the defining element of techno

Last 2 minutes of my signature Soundcloud clip maybe?

No idea if that counts, never been much to care of genre defining stuff like that anyway.

TomasHD, yep, Positive Centre is on the ball, gut solid techno, reminds me of early Nova Mute releases into the UK from Tresor like Klang de Familie. Steven Porter reads well on wiki, he certainly has the right idea when it comes to portfolio balance. which tracks are best of his by the way? I like something with more of an old school sound rather than grimey and hardcore-esque, although I like hardcore drums from '90 '91 like early XL records....

I was familiar with ASC from his jungle and dnb output a few years back, heard this just now and love it -Alume wrote:Asc, Sonitus Eco, Dino Sabatini and Edanticonf might be a start.

Asc is killing it man. Did you hear his new album "The Farthest Reaches" on Auxilary?

Steven Porter, is weird stuff. Their last release was mostly techno, But they are more on the experimental ground.

Bank holiday here in the UK. All the cash points are closed:) Had time to listen to a few Sonitus Eco tracks. Quality artist, reminds me of some Deep Chord I've been listening to on Soma earlier on this year. Airwateresque sounds. I'll check some more out soon. Thanks Alume for the tip.
