What the fuck is wrong with people that they do this?
Why am I seeing this more regularly in techno land?
What goes through someone's head when they do this? When they see a piece of music and just think "I'll stick my name on that. Fuck the cunt that made it?"

It sickens me, art is so pure, so wonderful, and then cunts come along and cheapen it all like this.

I entered the techno scene to get away from mainstream music bullshit, but now everything I ran from is happening with more and more regularity in the music world I love.

I fucking despair of it, I really do.

who writes these biographies? if it is his label then he might have written it himself. most of these biographies are pure wank, and read like total nonsense. back in the day i wrote my own biography for myspace and, looking back, it is cringey as fuck, but i'm a bit older and less of a dick these days.

Like someone said during the similar Tresor thread recently, this surely raises questions everything the guy has put out in the past. The other thing that worries me is that the producer of the track that was remixed was really quick to post a screen grab of Willemb's Facebook message alerting him to the fact and taking this idiots side straight away. At least listen to both tracks first then make a judgement (of which is fucking obvious in this case).

well, I was listening to my weekly HW newsletter a while ago when I heard this :

and thought... fuck, doesn't that sound familiar ?
then I remembered this one I made like almost 2 years ago...
the sound starts from around 6:30

that certainly gave me the creeps...
I went back to my project, and I discovered the melody is already programmed into the patch (Reaktor Metaphysical, most of the sounds in there already have some sort of melody programmed into them),
all I did in my soundscape was run it through some expensive outboard delay and reverb.
Nonetheless, it still felt kind of strange.
Or he used the same preset and did something else with it, or he blatantly ripped that part out of my soundscape and built his (rather primitive) track around it.
(and the more I listen to both tracks, and especially my part from around 7:10 where you hear the same kind of slightly overdriven distortion/saturation he used in his track (but he muffled away the rest of my underlying stuff with a good HP filter and the necessary lo-fi treatment), the more I get convinced he just stole my part.)

I can prove I was the first to use that sound (and therefore that melody) in the context of a track (at least if nobody else released a track earlier using that same patch),
so legally speaking I could try and make some sort of claim even if he didn't steal that part of my track.
I checked SC's legal info on this which only confirms my date of uploading this track is enough proof to do this.
but it's such a thin line, isn't it ?
and I'm only a completely unkown dude who has to take up a fight against some relatively established techno producer.
So I'm not gonna bother with it, I guess...

Though the more I compare both, the more I'm convinced it's him taking part of my track and building a simple track around it instead of him just using the same Reaktor patch.

The title of his EP is "Verrat Am Selbst" btw,
I suppose that does indicate something...

and to be honest : it's just a soundscape/texture/pad sound.
I can make many many more of those,
so if he's too stupid to produce those himself, then I seriously pity that guy...
I can easily make lots of pads and textures, no problemo.
