Now this isnt Rihanna Pop but not sure if you have heard of Son Lux? - these guys have some seriously amazing tracks from a sonic & composition stand point.

Definitely something to listen to in the mastering room.

I listen to a lot of 80's wave/post punk shizzle when I'm in the mood. So many great musicians in that era and sounds/ideas that paved the way for electronic music of today. I love the grit of it all and the way people were experimenting with cheap as fuck synths, drum pads, samplers, bottles on string

Yep, it might be the perfect modern pop track. The production is good of course, but the hook, lyrics and arrangement are absolutely out of this world in the context it was designed for.

The whole album is quite nice imo, updated versions of some of his older work, like Leg of time, Oblivion etc. Though there's a couple I'd liked to have seen included, Insect Nation etc.
