FM synthesis for noobs

Stumbled upon this video about the digitone which first's part may be one of the best and easiest to grasp FM synthesis explanation, enjoy.

Agree on the guy being a little bit of a douchebag but I liked the explanation so let's give him credit for that hehe.

Hades you're definitely right !

I've seen a fair few of this guys videos - they cover a whole range of stuff from really useful things, to just plain ridiculous fun.

I don't like his music very much, but he seems very adventurous, friendly, open etc.. And also I admire the fact that he has tackled basically waking up one day with significant permanent hearing loss, and and has taken it in his stride.

I don't think he's a douchebag. And I think most youtube channel types are douchebags haha

I really like his handclap method of explaining it.

I actually don't think he explained one FM synthesis is. It was more how to approach a FM synthesizer (which he did pretty well), but as far as understanding what is actually happening when frequencies modulates each other... I don't think he did that.
