Dual oscillator was something really missing in the first brute. Hope to grab one 2nd hand next year maybe.

Agreed, I sold my Minibrute, sound was much too clean and pure, not really "Phat". Dual osc will improve it a lot.

Very nice. Those are actually quite affordable. 279 Euros for the 6U version and it got the power supply included.

I am looking to get a synth for low end and was thinking the minibrute 2s. I know there are other monos out there that are better for bass but I like the semi-modular nature of the MB2s as it opens up more possibilities.

anyone want to change my mind?

budget 500 quid.

Without question Dreadbox Erebus. Also semi modular but the Dreadbox Oscillators are so much nicer than Arturia. They are rich and thick and the filters are just lovely.
It's a genuine bit of quality boutique gear.

thanks buddy...will check out the Sonic State review tomorrow. (the YT videos of the minibrute 2s do it no favours. the only one who does anything vaguely interesting with it is Look Mum No Computer).

I own a dreadbox nyx and minibrute 2s, the dreadbox oscillators are definitely heavier than the arturia could ever get, special mention for the arturia sine and triangle waves which are pretty heavy, and also the mb2s is very flexible and can make all sorts of noise and textures if used right.

I find I don't actually use my Minibrute in my music that much, I guess it's helped me discover that I gravitate more towards dual oscs and 24dB filters in my sound design! (not sure if the filter will still just be a 12dB in the new one?)

But FWIW anytime a friend ever comes round for a jam it's always the one they end up gelling with and making some nice sounds on!

I like my MB2s for what it is, but I'd grab a Boog, MS20, or Neutron over it for bass duties (in that order). Erebus sounds great in the demos I've seen, but it's pretty pricey. I'd rather have a couple of cheaper semi-modulars so they can play with each other.
