Use -18db offset instead of -20db? As far as I am concerned, -12db, -14db and -20db are the standard db offsets here.

That's the yank standard.
Europe and EBU r68 standard is -18dbfs=0VU

Thank you all for you input, now I will consider updating Spy with other visualization forms. Until then, hope you can still find beauty in the dancing needle.
