Just tried these (Kush) things over a mix, not good, great on other stuff but not on the 2 buss. They cut the low end in weird way.

I'm kinda late on these but for some reason I just tried them out yesterday and I kinda love them. They are what I've been looking for when I just want a touch more saturation mojo. N rolls off the highs in a really pleasing way and A adds a really nice gentle top end excitement. I agree that they make shit sound like a record, a little bit on certain drums and synths and they just gel in the mix in a really nice way.

But yeah, the sound a bit weird on the master.

Invalve preamp is nice too

Softamp 30d is a great triode preamp. You can select the capacitors, triode model and plate voltage.

This is excellent

Transformer mode hits the spot.

Some transformers here too

Also variety of sound tessla plugs are transformer emulation
I just demoed these. SATV is quite nice, doens't fuck with the frequency response too much if you drive, unlike a lot of saturators. Never heard of that company.

Hey guys, I hope this isn't offtopic but I've recently tried to perfect the art of faking the warmth and characteristics of analog equipment. Plugins such as those discussed in this thread are obviously paramount to achieve this but I can't seem to find a decent place to start my journey in theory and technique. Do you have any tips on where I can begin? Cheers.

There is a lot of good advice in that thread.

iLok license manager is still iLok nonsense. Why should I need to run 3rd party software in order to authorize and run something I've purchased? I'll just buy something else.
The sad part is a lot of the good stuff uses that and I was in the same boat as you until I discovered Softube, hell I'd even buy an iFok'd just to use their plugins. The iLoK manager is no trouble at all really.
don t want to support the iLok idea but I have been using it for a while and didn t have any problem.
the only thing needs attention is when you change computer you must retrieve the license so you can
use it on a new one. now what is happening on a failed hard drive scenario is a thing that worries me...

on the sauce thing, I ve tried the clariphonic on trial once , and i still remember the clarity that this thing was adding to the highs. prime stuff and recommended .
thanks for reminding me this .
