Was playing around with some dub chords and this is what happened. Atm I try to get my subs better, tighter, more driving. This is the first attempt after rearranging my room to get better acoustics.. What you think, did I mess everything up?

i really like the chords too! cant say much about the bass, laptop territory here
as a 2min clip it works fine, but i guess you would need more elements to keep the track going if it was 5 or 6 min long.
maybe some additional groove element, a perc?
like the general idea 8-)

I have a clip this time. More house music i'm afraid.

Is this too happy? Worth finishing?

great groove
but im not that fan of the piano in your song
i think some stabs will do the song better
if you arent tired of the loop allready you should finish it

not a fan of the double kick in the first part, it works way better in the second part
the second part is better than the first part in my opinion aswell
it needs some other parts to make it into a song of 6 min
mayb some high string or some high percussion

i dig this, i like the idea simple but effective. i would only lower the volume of the claps & shakers. Maybe you could use a bit of reverb on your synths too, other than that is good!

I like the idea lots. But it needs some work.

The stabs sound a bit thin and cheap, same with the 'melody'. They just lack bite and depth. Did you sample them? I reckon you need to add another an octave down to thicken them up, or overdrive them more, add some grit. Also they are really static. There's no movement in them at all. They don't change throughout the song. Perhaps some reverb like pedro suggested would liven them up a bit. They do need work. More gradual filter too. Maybe some lfo on an auto filter. Is there any delay on them? A simple trick is to have delay running into a reverb.

In fact, there's room in there for a lush pad, which suggests that the mids need thickening up too.

The vocal, despite me liking HOVE, the only part of the sample that actually works is the last bit. The rest doesn't fit with the cadence of the track.

Great idea, just need to work on the execution.

I love the low end. It's fucking boss.

The chords, I'm less impressed by. I think it's the actual chord.

Good to read this, my effords in getting my acoustics better seem to be worth the trouble. Now I have to blame me, if I produce shitty sound ;D

finally got the studio back up and running...
pffff... sure missed listening to music on my monitors... :)

As some have said above : your chords could do with more modulation since they stay quite static during this clip.
But I quite like it. I've listened to it before on headphones a few days ago, but I like it a lot more now that I hear it on my monitors.
Obviously it's just an idea that needs more work : more variation, better drums (more percussion),...
but I think the general idea is quite ok, I quite like the groove and the mix doesn't sound too bad either at the moment !

Such fine fine shakers man, love 'em !!!
(now why do you always make your SC page shine so bright as if I would need to put on sunglasses to even throw a glance at it ??)

This tracks is funky as hell man, really love it !
However, I think your claps really REALLY need to be tuned higher, honestly, it's a must !
And your keys (that cheesy piano-ish sound) just need to get swapped for a better sound.
It's like you start making love to some beautiful gorgeous girl,
and you start undressing her...
and she turns out to have the most saggy tits ever.
Change the keys, man. :) ;)

Love the percussion in the last part. Lots of groove.

Quick question from me.

How is the kick with this? Is it too sloppy?

And how well does the bass sit?

(The chords suck, I know!)

I'm not sure about the kick. My first thought was it's too tame. But clearly the bass is! Sounds like it hides behind the kick and is afraid of coming out, to show it's balls. Get it louder and give it more punch (just a little) and maybe the kick will do it's thing like it is. Just an idea: try to add some longer notes or at least some opened up note releases in the bass to underline the nice groove. The whole concept has potential. House can be massive, too, you don't have to be that careful :)

Chords made me a little ill. But i like that sloppy kick sound! You just have to make sure that your bass stays punchy so that it doesn't start getting muddy.

On my first listen i wasn't sure what to think.

That sound you bring in at 1:10 could be a little louder and i would love some more percussion from the beginning.

Did you forget to connect a VST to that midi note halfway through?

Gave this a quick listen. This is by far the best I've heard from you.

The drum hits sound too 'added on later' though. They stick out too much

I can give proper feedback later.

This is nice, good melodies and bass. But it feels like the bass could have a little cut on the low end and like jordan said, those drums sound like you add them on final mins! I like how you in different parts of the tracks keep bringing the different synths you used

Do you mean the Amen breaks that i cut up?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to mix them into the track :/
