Video Tutorials
About time I did another one.
Any requests?

Re: Video Tutorials
I'd be very curious to see how you work with pattern delays after reading that other thread! I briefly gave it a try but didn't quite get the hang of it.
Re: Video Tutorials
Pattern delays, and long ass fx-chains are two things I would love to see more of
And yes. Please do more <3

I'd love to see how you approach EQ.
What do you listen/look for, when/where do you cut and how much etc.

Shellac gel nails?
Re: Video Tutorials
Oh..music...eh....yeah pattern delays. That thread caught my attention too, especially after seeing the vst that was linked. It looks like any thing is possible with it so would be good to see how you might approach it from a creative point (as opposed to more obvious ping-pong or rhythmic stuff) ..
Re: Video Tutorials
I like making weird sounds with fx.. delays, reverb distortion & mod fx like phaser, flanger etc..
Sometimes it's the kitchen sink approach, but the one weakness of it can be that the sound is 'thin'.. or that I wonder whether the sound is 'thick' enough when I resample etc..
Don't know if that's worth a whole video.. but i would be interested to see a bit of sound design with fx / reverb & distortion, delays, limiting etc.. and get some wisdom on when something has enough presence to be in the foreground.
It sure if I'm explaining myself correctly.. and I.kinda know some of the answers.. but any vid would be class. Pattern delays. Convolution reverb on bass / wtf noises/ drum sound design.

Re: Video Tutorials
Would love some reverb compression tricks or some useful EQ examples.
Scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds.
Re: Video Tutorials
Would be awesome to know about your bag of tricks you mentioned in another post to salvage a crappy mix from a "very well known producer duo`s music who have been at it since the 90`s"

Re: Video Tutorials
That was Mastering stuff.
Not going to make any mastering videos
But that was judicious use of EQ, dynamic EQ, multiband compression, multiband transient processing, accel limiting, mid side processing.
Came out nice in the end, we got a lovely cut.

Re: Video Tutorials
Don't know if you already did this, but I think it's always fun to see someone making a track from scratch - talking about various subjects as they go along.

I think that is what I will probably do, incorporating some of the above and explaining as I go.antiodromia wrote: ↑Fri Oct 29, 2021 4:31 pmDon't know if you already did this, but I think it's always fun to see someone making a track from scratch - talking about various subjects as they go along.
Re: Video Tutorials
Id second the pattern delay idea.
Or polyrhythmic percussion stuff.
I mean i get the idea in general, and i made some polyrhythmic stuff that i enjoyed, but it always felt like trial and ertor to me
Somewhen you said you would make a lowend focussed tutorial. Did that ever happen? Chances are high that i missed it

Re: Video Tutorials
Any chance of uploading the streams you did previously? Due to other stuff going on at the time I only really dipped into a little bit of it, but what I remember was it being good.
Re: Video Tutorials
Atmospheric elements please. The bits that make it spacious and dynamic.
+1 for asm's request above. Cheers
