Ok, I think I'll start with a low end guide, and then after that EQ practice which will include a guide on "seeing in to the mix".

Nice one, Steve!
We'll all finally be able to nail that reverb rumble then ;)

No, seriously, thanks for dedicating your time to this and giving away all your knowledge like that.

This will take me a little time to sort out, as I will probably have some graphics and possibly some audio examples

Great news!

Some random thoughts:

I'm a big proponent of using audio examples in these type of lessons. Words and audio (and perhaps video) in conjunction is the definite win. Text can only go so far in audio production.

Also audio examples of material with problems (bad mixing etc). Which I would argue helps getting all these techniques and good mixing habits/practises in clear view, by contrasting them to what is not. And what problems with topic X actually sounds like to a seasoned engineer.

This will make stuff take longer though, which is the only negative. If the production value goes up a lot of us would gladly pay I'm sure (me included). But I also understand that deciding to produce these lessons to a "sellable level" puts another type of stress on the creator. Which is a real concern obviously if you ask for money in return. So it's a balance..if it comes to that. I'd rather have text only than nothing at all.

Peace!

Nice one void! Really looking forward to this series. The EQ tut with ‘seeing into the mix’ guide sounds very useful. Good man!

Yep I totally agree with the low end tut, it's needed. Actually what someone said most of the advices and instructions on tutorials are pretty basic or from people who are not dedicated in the genre. It would be great to have an insight from Voidloss. Thanks once again mate for all your effort!

I think a lot of people will benefit from such guides so thank you for offering. It's clear that a lot of us did from your previous ones.

Since people are making suggestions about format and so on, maybe an Ableton project file with stock plugins would be useful to demonstrate some techniques. That way we can go in and mute/unmute and tweak stuff, and see how [insert concept here] was achieved.

What about all those who don't use Ableton? I mean these would be a real gift so i'll take whatever and try to equate in my workflow/environment. But for those who dont use Ableton, a classic non daw specific approach to these topics would be awesome.

Thats fucking amazing thanks alot already!
Lowend is certainly a topic that needs to be covered properly by a professional as there seems to be so much rubbish info around.
I would have voted for dynamics as i dont know anything about the technical side of this.
Thanks again i advance steve, this is what the internet should be all about, freeflow if quality information!!
