The boss behind Combat Recordings, Stormfield DJs, produces and performs audio-visual live sets at various parties, and also runs the regular Riddim’n‘Bruise radio show on Sub FM.

A DJ with 18 years of experience under his belt, Stormfield’s sonic influences are rooted in the early 90’s strains of electronica and abstract techno like LFO, Aphex Twin, Black Dog, Autechre. Taking on board the early junglism of Photek and Source Direct, he later carried these influences proudly through other forms of music like electro, dubstep and hard breakage.

I said the other week that we were gonna have a mix from this guy & that I expected that my ears would be on stalks throughout. Well, I was right. This was AMAZING.

If you have 90mins to spare.. I'd definitely recommend it. Genuinely incredible.

Derek Stormfield does many things very well. He runs Combat Recodings whilst producing music under his own name in parallel with his work with Fausten. His music is as fucked-up up and addictive as the visuals that he creates an performs.
