Proper monitoring is essential over any other hardware that is true. Will you be able to make a decent track with just headphones? Absolutely.

If you know how your headphones translates then it shouldnt be a problem. Listen to a lot of music in your cans and get to know them fully.

But yeah, I have to admit that some parts of the second track sounds a bit minimal techno, especially the ending.

It sure is. But it wasnt even minimal techno to me, I define minimal-techno something more close to lets say Extravelt or Stephan Bodzin.

None of the tracks above is Techno for me. The last track feels more Minimal than Techno.

Seriously though this looks/sounds great. I have a feeling that this is not their last effect box.

It's a huge difference man. If you like to record your own sound getting a dedicated handyrecorder is very recommended.
