Re: Fucking claps

This one definitely got some filter resonance going on which makes it stick out quite hard on a lower midrange cutoff freq. my tanzbar has a filter on it's clap which makes it sound very much like this when it's around 9 o clock (pretty low frequency) I think I'll agree with with Mattias here , my g...

Re: Compact mixer with USB audio

clicks sound more like a buffersize or interface issue. I've noticed that ableton gives quite some latency to my hardware and i'm usually offsetting tracks anywhere in between 45-200ms depending on the buffersize. A good way is to have your drumcomputer and a drumrack play respectively a kick and a ...

Re: Boredom/Apathy when reviewing works in progress??

Try taking a break from the music style you're making right now. take influence from everywhere, new genres, old genres. give those a go. pick up a new instrument if you wanna stay into music. stop the creative flow and allow yourself to be inspired by other things. to name a few that work for me, e...

Re: Compact mixer with USB audio

Recently went through the same thoughts as you are right now. Really wanted a mixer to be able to multitrack my jams but found out that mixers with direct outs + a semi good interface with decent conversion is getting quite expensive real fast. Went for an interface (MOTU 828 mk3) with 2 8-channel A...

Dancing around with my tanzbear

Got danzbear for a few months and getting my around it. also borrowed some nice pedals from a mate and jammed out since new year. i'd like to share these two wips with you guys and see how or if i can turn these into finished tracks https://soundcloud.com/sasemoi/bear-with-a-chain/s-uu1IB https://so...

Re: obtuso - Artificial Wasteland

Very twosided about this one. I love that it's a jam and definitely going the good direction , kick and bass sound very squashed and need some room to breathe and pump imo but are heavy as fuck. Very much like the drone and how it evolves throughout the track , along with the heavyness of how you cr...

Re: seventh serpent - surrealistic mind

composition is very nice but the mix could use some work imo. have the feeling the overall sound of the track is 'thin' , not very dynamic. try sidechaining some of the elements to one another so they push each other away when they need to?

Re: dubdub - 375

Nice track man, needs a little 'air and sparkle' in the mix as you said. like the delays you got going on. Bass is indeed way too cheesy for my taste and the kick needs some more thunderstrike. overall like aurongroove said beefen up that lowend ,try to get to listen to it in a spot where you can re...

Re: whipped up two WIPs

Love the second one here. Very cool sound effects , did you go out and record them yourself? (see track names :P ) bass is wonky and the synth you bring in at the end fits the track very well. continue pls First one i found a bit generic and the sound fx compared to the other one sound muffled. miss...

Re: Damn Heat

Nice sound design on both tracks, pretty damn raw and gritty. I'd say in the first one your bass/sub needs to be a bit more controlled, compression/eq is your friend. It'll open up the rest of your mix nicely. In the 2nd track you have the main synth midrange screaming all over the place, pushing aw...

This forum is the best thing about the internet. People are charging money for advice half as good as what you can learn here. Much appreciated. +1 :ugeek: Everything I know now is in debt with this forum. I remember a thread where mattias gave us the walkthrough of his super bassline process. Pure...

Very relatable :) was just done with laying out ideas for about 6 tracks before the end of the year and still waiting a bit to pick them up again

Re: Looking for preamp advice

That's what i'd like to go for though, since I'd like to 'color' the sound of my synths and machines slightly just to get a different sound out of it and because from time to time we work together with folks with some decent condenser mics for singing . Though I could get a 'workhorse' and a sweet 2...

Looking for preamp advice

Dear cunts, After acquiring some gear and external effects in a relative short amount of time and now getting fed up with recording clips separately (semi because i want to start working towards a live set) , I think it's time to upgrade the amount of inputs and to do so I've gone with the choice of...

Re: Evolving synth noises!!!

The suggested effects should work nicely here, and automation is key. I'd start by automating your synth, for example filter cutoff and adsr parameters and slowly try to get comfortable with synth programming that way. Then you can use fx to spice it up. Something like Blackhole or Shimmer is also ...

Re: Master Buss Processing

In some cases your job is simply to say "this is fine as it is". looking forward to the day a mastering engineer pays me that compliment Word :D Theoretically, I fully understand the process by now, I've studied it for a couple years now, spent decent hours with more than decent mastering engineers...

Re: Master Buss Processing

That`s not really what mastering is about. Mastering is about being invisible and true to the artists work as much as possible. Of course if a certain tone or sheen is requested then it can be done, but otherwise you are there to appear to not be there. I agree up to a certain point , but imo stayi...
