Re: Cutting below 20Hz
Also take into account filtering can lead to phase issues or pre-ringing ( with linear phase EQ). The steeper the cut, the more artifacts you are supposed to get.

Re: Tune Drums with scales?
Word! BTW, how do you create/tune your kicks? Sample layering, raw synthesis, kick dedicated synth...? I don't really have a methodology for creation. I generally use a combination of things. Sometimes my kick might be a field recording of a chest freezer door being closed. Or a combination of synt...

Re: Tune Drums with scales?
"if it sounds good, it is good. If not, choose another kick" Well that is essentially tuning a kick without a tune knob. . Exactly. It's passive, sample surfing essentially (exactly what I expect a guy like him to do though....), just going through samples until one that "works" - ie one that is "i...

Re: Tune Drums with scales?
Tuning is absolutely not pointless, the man is a numpty. Tuning in key, yeah sure, not always worth doing unless the kick is a sustained sounding kick. I mean, for the type of crappy pop shite the freemasons make, the kick is not really that dominant, so yeah, no massive need to spend too much time...

Re: Tune Drums with scales?
I have recently watched some tutorial videos from James Wiltshire (I know, I love wasting time doing lazy stuff) and he is completely against tuning kicks. His opinion is: "if it sounds good, it is good. If not, choose another kick". Of course, at the end that means tuning using your ears anyways. ...

Re: Sonimus - StonEQ 4k
Would also like to know how it performs compared with Slate Digital ones... I did an A/B test today. The Slate EQ is modelled after the brown version I think. At first I though the Slate one sounded a bit better but if you play around with the Q of the Sonimus one a bit you can make them sound almo...

Re: Surgery & Spy - Two MaxForLive gain staging & metering t
In this pic you will see the discrepance I was talking about:
Not a big issue, I will just use the third tick from the left as the 0 VU mark.
Still, if it were possible to adjust it...
I really love this plugin, thanks again for developing it

Re: Surgery & Spy - Two MaxForLive gain staging & metering t
I have tested a pure sinewave at -18 dB, and Spy VU meter needle sits barely on the third tick from the left (not from the right). Other VU meter plugin needles sit exactly at 0 VU; or +2 VU if calibrated at -20 dB instead the standard -18 dB. Not a big issue because I can just take this into accoun...

Re: Surgery & Spy - Two MaxForLive gain staging & metering t
EDIT: Is the third line starting from the right on the VU meter display supposed to be 0 VU?
If so, then the reading works quite well.

Re: Surgery & Spy - Two MaxForLive gain staging & metering t
Mmm... is it possible to increase Spy VU meter needle accuracy for the next update? Currently it doesnt correlate well with any VU meter pluging reading. I always have a VU meter plugin on the master bus pinned on screen to adjust track gains, but I would love to have individual VU meters in everytr...

Great, thank you very much for this, I really missed integrated VU meters a bigger gain levels display between effects and racks.
This solves it completely.

Re: MODEL 1
I hate A&H mixers so I guess I would hate this unnecessary mixer also.
Most DJs are deaf SOTBs anyways.
Give me a RANE MP2015 over this gimmick for Peachy Hawpins wannabies anyday.

Back into the topic, I would suggest Rampage (the OP) to check latest Audiotent sample pack: https://www.audiotent.com/samples/kostas-maskalides/ Modern Techno sounds. Generic but straight to the point. These guys of Audiotent also seems to be nice ones, they offer free tips, tutorials and sounds f...

Re: New samples packs for techno music.
ok, just read up on the Mihalis Safras story (and how he stole from several people), honestly... so stupid, so lazy, so dumb,... and most likely people hardly care at all and will forget all about it in just a few weeks time... ugh, the superficial nature of a lot of people that like electronic mus...

Re: New samples packs for techno music.
For some people, music is an art. For others, it is just a matter of bussiness. And for most of the mainstream public music is nothing but entertainment, they dont care about the creative process. But who cares? Some people get rich and famous with premade loops? Good for them, at least they are no...

Re: How often do you guys use compression?
I just like to keep some nasty peaks under control (just a little). how about working on the mix just a little more so your nasty peaks are simply no longer there ? no offense, but at the moment you sound like some amateur cook who adds cream to every sauce he makes, just because "it always makes t...
