Amøbe - Kulture
I've been ill for the last few days, and was just making loops on my laptop. At some point I thought it had sort of a Norman Nodge-esque flavor, and then I tried to put it together. I really like this track, so if anybody has some pointers on how to elevate it (or just a comment), it would be much a...

Steve... is this you?
Just came across this fella due to a work related task, and the name is so close to our good Steve that I'm wondering if he has a much much much more commercial side to him

Re: What Techno Are You Listening To Now
Thanks! This is what I like :) There's a bunch of sets from the closing parties on youtube, just search 'Tresor closing 2005'. Steve Bicknell, Chris Liebing, DJ Rush, Joey Beltram, Paul Kalkbrenner...... there's a few I like but the Alan Oldham one is doing it for me right now. Ooh exciting! I know...

Re: Dreams from the Past
I can't figure out if that low end is one of the best ones I've heard in a while, or if it doesn't really work (I would be very curious to hear it on a big system). It sort of stutters and throws your balance off - which is insane :D The rest of the track I find to be marvelous. I really like how th...

Re: Generic Airwindows plugin thread / tips, recommendations etc
So for tips and tricks, I could use some tips and tricks on how to open this up
I downloaded one called signed m1/intel Mac AUs .dmg (which I assume is the right one). Now I have a folder full of .component files, which I have no clue what to do with.
...did I mention I work in IT?

I did an acid 8-) I'm curious if it needs some extra elements. When you have so much modulation going on in the filter, I find it hard to not cluster it when I try to add extra elements, but I'm also not sure if adding some more could potentially elevate it a bit. https://soundcloud.com/rasmus-riege...

Re: Balog A happy DAY
That was impressively well done - it takes some sharp turns, but in general I think you stayed on the tightrope (can you say that or am I doing too literal translation of Danish sentences?)
The vocals are not really my thing, but I could totally jam out to an instrumental of this

Re: Do you have any long-term musical goals (even abstract, pompous or hilarious ones)?
Near goal is to just get myself together and send some of the tracks I like out. But I have this idea of creating a sort of singer-songwriter gone shoegaze album. It's kinda the musical place I grew up in, and I have a lot more tools in my arsenal today to create some interesting texture and modulat...

Re: Bass and glide/pitch modulation
Haha perfect (it didn't sound completely, what I was looking for) , but thanks for the tip! Yeah sub basses that aren't rumbles seem to be a lot more common in dnbLost to the Void wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 2:53 pmI might add that the Function example you posted has no glide or pitch modulation. It`s just two notes playing in sequence.

Re: Bass and glide/pitch modulation
Thanks for the insights I've experimented a bit these last days, and the combination of movement in pitch combined with movement in the filter seems to take the sound into the place I'm interested in

Re: Amøbe - Reepoph
mmm I know what you mean about that riff  For me it sounds best when the filter is muting the high frequencies of the plucking synth, the tension is just kind of thrown off when the lpf opens up. Matter of style and personality that though tbh. Low end is wicked, the atmosphere you've created ...

Re: Bass and glide/pitch modulation
. My go to sub trick is using a sine wave an octave and a half up mixed in, then filtering it right off and using a envelope to open it up. Makes a very present sub at the least, havent gone too wild on pitchy moving basses. Might give it a blast later and see what I can come up with. That sounds i...

Re: Amøbe - Reepoph
I can see this track doing perfectly fine on a dancefloor. One small remark: I wish the synth that starts around the 0:57 mark would cut through the mix more. It's a bit too far in the background in my opinion. Thanks man :) I'll turn it up a bit or send a bit more to one of the aggressive compress...

Bass and glide/pitch modulation
It's been too long since we last had a proper bass thread! Recently I've been wondering about a certain type of bass that you sometimes hear, where there's some pitch movement. (only example I could quickly come up with was from this function mix, right when the beat starts after a minute or so) htt...

Has anybody tried that Ableton app that came out for iOS? It looked very intuitive in the videos I've seen so far
