What next?

Ive been hard at work the last couple of years making tunes, i now have a modest collection of roughly 10 tunes I'm feeling and would like to share them in the public domain with the hopes of earning some $, gaining a fan base and possibly doing some djing or something.. I guess theres quite a few o...

Re: Giving your mixes depth

Yeah that video is awesome, it made me rethink my mixes in a big way particularly in regards to transients

I was familiar with ASC from his jungle and dnb output a few years back, heard this just now and love it -

the mix could do with opening up, it feels a bit constrained and pressed together, and needs some room to breathe.
Thanks, i agree on the mix, I'm thinking a bit less reverb and more paced sequencing could work.

I'm a big fan of both those artists, if your into that sound you should check out Nether too

Huge dub snares/ Bus reverb?

So I've been listening to and studying a lot of tracks lately, mostly the dubby / tech side of dnb/ techno. What I've noticed is there seems to be a huge modulated reverb sound on a lot of these tracks, often particularly noticeable behind the snare. Heres an example - 49RSHC-vwW0 Ive tried gating r...

Re: Question about Compression

I like to use compression a lot, sometimes quite drastically. I think as a beginner i underestimated the importance of compression quite a lot. The main thing i use it for is to control transients in the mix, i always end up with a comp (usually glue or kotelnikov) on the master bus to gell the mix ...

Re: deep, beautiful pads

Pads are a constant thing of mystery to me.. i like to take Two instances of auto filter, one for mid one for sides, low cut with resonance and lfo on mid, run both into ping pong delay

Re: Sonarworks

If all you want is to "flatten" your headphones, then just download the free demo. Even after it expires, that part will still work. The part that won't work anymore is the speaker/headphone emulation. That said, I find the speaker/headphone emulation really useful--to hear bass response on Japanes...
