Re: Industrial Techno sample pack
Sure it is silly to talk about plagiarism. As long as the artist makes mad bangorz who cares? It is only part of someone's being they are taking for their own benefit. What i meant was, the word "plagiarism" is a bit strong when we're only talking about a trebly synth with a 1/16th sawtooth LFO. Th...

Re: Industrial Techno sample pack
Emmanuel strikes again? Both tracks are super generic and it's a bit silly to talk about plagiarism when the only thing they have in common is a synth (and it's not a very idiosyncratic one... ) - especially when there are dozens of tracks that sounds exactly the same being released every day. I've...
Re: Kick help
Ok, finally took a listen to this in the mastering studio to get a better picture. I don`t think reverb is involved in this instance. The sub rumble is too....focused. It`s not diffuse like a reverb rumble would be. Yeah, for sure it's not plain reverb. Definitely you can make it with some addition...
Re: Kick help
I feel like I've exhausted my ideas/ experiments/ eq, and yet I still can't get close to this (as one example). The reverb part I'm confident with, it's the actual sound of the kick that I am lost on. I am guessing the bass is a sample of the kick. 7tNy6tEkweI ps Do I need to invest in new synths/ ...

Re: ABLETON HEADROOM INFO REQUIRED
I've heard about this 62db thing, but i've never heard of any ableton devs confirming it or explaining why (i know that live processing on any daw is made at 32 or 64 bits, but why 62 decibels precisely - i would like to know, if that's true). To be frank, it really doesn't matter, unless you're in ...

Re: Best way to DJ with limited space at home...
So I've had to leave my 1210's in storage as my flat in London is tiny, there's no real way to set up some decks without being totally unfair to housemates in regards to space usage. But I do have a largeish desk in the lounge (which is where my monitor speakers are), and I reckon I could squeeze o...

Re: How to get the most out of a Tr-08
Hmmm, yes, that's a recurring problem among TR8 users, i'm guessing that's why they made their new "boutique" stuff so small.

Re: How to get the most out of a Tr-08
Hi guys, I got a tr-8 for drums. Im after really subtle atmospheric percussion in my tracks. The tr-08 with its built in sequencer and without processing doesn´t seem to get me in this direction. What are your recommendations to reach those subtle percussions like in these tracks: https://www.youtu...

Re: Music/Audio related jobs, how to get involved??
That's cool, you mean your degree was focused on engineering and coding specially for audio tools? Basically yeah, a joint electronic engineering and music degree with the intention of equipping people to apply these skills to audio. There were a few modules specifically for this concentration (e.g...

Re: Music/Audio related jobs, how to get involved??
Finding a job as an audio engineer is apparently pretty though today, but if you want some audio related jobs where there's room, then you can look into any jobs proposed by music tech companies. E.g. Ableton, NI, Elektron, Pioneer, loudspeakers companies, etc. They need people to code, design soft...

It's a sinewave (or something close) playing ascending semitones. I think it comes from Kraftwerk.

Re: Elektrons in the studio
I really like hardware but automation wise it's hard to beat software. I do hear a lot of people have the same problems. I just record the audio and work with that but I'm still searching for a way to use my hardware better (or even make hardware only tracks). Also the sync between Ableton and exte...

Re: Acoustic Treatment Help ?
Rockwool does nothing for troublesome sub 150hz low frequencies, which are the real problem, unless you are making it a meter thick. You literally cannot get down even close to 150 with rockwool, ESPECIALLY if you have your rockwool trap against a wall. It has to be feet away from the wall. And to ...

Re: Acoustic Treatment Help ?
My budget was €1500, i've got 4 monster basstraps, 4 224 panels and 2 alpha panels. 2 monster basstraps are on my ceiling, 2 on the back of the wall. The 224 panels are left and right of my listening position and the alpha panels are in the corner for early reflections. Just contact them and see wh...
