Re: ASK US ANYTHING [NO SUBJECT IS STUPID / ALL QUESTIONS WELCOMED]

When I create an fx chain in ableton with multiple layers the signal gets louder (obviously). What is the theory bevind volume multiplication to keep the output the same as the channel without the chain? For instance a channel peaks at -6db and I add three layers in a chain how much should i reduce ...

Re: Lone Wolf

I like it, I think. I have listened to it for three or four times now while working and what I did notice is that it begins pretty minimal and elements are added along the way but because there is no real break or mid section it is evolving quite slowly and It looses my attention along the way. Imho...

Cool, especially the second halve with the Prodigy inspired sounds.
Not a fan of the vocals though. too much upfront. May I suggest a little bit more fx and processing? :D

Nice!
I agree with Amobe, very well done.
Distorted and clean at the same time.

Re: Amøbe - Kulture

I like all the sounds accept for... the kick, is there a low/mid resonant peak or something like that? It sounds somewhat unpleasant imho (I am listening on my pc speakers though). Personally I would add a abrassive element somewhere, perhaps the syncopating toms that develop over time with a bit of...

Re: Attenuator - Nenbutsu

Sounds great! very moody indeed. the only thing that I could possible point out is that in the intro the kick is very upfront until around the 1:30 mark. When other elements are added it blends in nicely but that first one and a halve minut is just a little bit to plucky if you know what I mean. May...

Re: Yamaha RM1X / Korg EM1 - Experiences?

the rm1x sounds really outdated and has crappy samples but a good sequencer (but for some reason you cant switch between write and play in rec so for live its just so so...), em1 is realy basic but does sound better. it has a very electriby rompler sound.

Re: Standard Clichés

drugs. sometimes i feel like everyone but me does it. Not sure about this. I don't see tons of obviously drugged in clubs these days really. Some, but nothing like in the 90's. From the top of my head, amongst the people I personally know who go to clubs I can think of maybe 1 or 2 people who occas...

Re: Buying a new PC

Yeah, but you also need a fan, a case, hard drives, windows etc. But 1000 should be doable. Get the best cpu you can afford, you don't really need a graphics card. check what connections there are and what you need on the motherboard. Get a silent fan, ditch the stock one because it's small and noisy.

Just saw somebody selling a machinedrum with a memory problem for 175. Don't know wat the problem was... Maybe just a dead battery but I was too late anyway. Already sold :(

Re: Pawn Shop/Ebay Finds

Bought a juno 6 for 140 euro but at the time I only worked with midi so I sold half a year later for the same price.
Wish I kept it though, sound was quite nice and prices have gone berzerk nowadays :(
