First, use compressed air to remove dust. Maybe this might do the trick. If not clean and lubricate the fader with some Caig Deoxit F5M FaderLube or Caig Deoxit D5 spray. Any thoughts on Waves' NX virtual mix room plugin? I got some nice results doing 75% of a mix with NX in combination with decent headphones (Beyerdynamic DT 880pro) calibrated by Sonarworks. If you use Pro Tools I recommend the tape head saturator from Massey. Super cheap and high quality plugins.
