Re: making moving rhythms and melodies to keep a track flowi

Any good reading on synthesis and sound design?

I've got two books: Becoming a Synthesizer Wizard From Presets to Power User and How to make a noise from Simon Cann... Will start reading/learning them after I'm done with some music theory issues... :)

Music Theory and EDM Production (practical usage)

How much music theory is really needed for solid EDM production? Reading and writing notes, scales and intervals variations, chords etc… It’s so borring and I just can’t grasp it’s practical usage… Especially for reading and writing notes. I’ve started to study theory from the scrach, reading some b...

Re: Hardware recommendations

Yeah best is if your interface has midi. Otherwise for cheap you can get a M-Audio Midisport 2x2, for more i/o ESI and Motu make bigger models. I have a Motu Micro Lite 5x5. Depends on how much hardware you plan on having. Anyway you want 61keys ideally, 25/49keys are just too limiting.Thats why I ...

Re: Hardware recommendations

Most affordable (<100€) midi keys are total crap, and don't have nice action. If you have a midi interface I highly recommend you pick up a cheap 90's synth instead, you can research online to see which ones have good keyboards. I recently bought a Yamaha SY77 for €70, keyboard action is much bette...

Re: Hardware recommendations

I have UC33 collecting dust, bought it 6 years ago, I could make some use of it. I allways thought of it as hard to program/assign... Is anyone who use/used UC33 on the board? I have to admitt, I didn't use it much at all, just for live in one short period of time.

Where do you find new music? I'm finding it hard to keep digging quality production, especially in this hyperproduction time, so are there any tips, techniques which I need to know? Some sites, blogs or whatsoever? I love sounds od Detro and Birmingham techno, and it’s artist (Mills, Hood, Surgeon, ...
