Re: The Arches
There was that orgy circa 2007 but I think the straw that broke the back was the underage girl who died from a bad E just recently. The economy could be a factor also. The cops gotta make cuts so boom time to move outa town. I'v not been there in a while myself and music history is littered with the...

The Arches
I’v not been on in a while because it turns out that 3 children is the tipping point. But this is a call to arms. The Arches nightclub in Glasgow is having its late night licence revoked. Many of you will know it as pretty much a top 10 nightclub in the world. Top 5 maybe. You would no doubt agree t...

Are you suggesting that everyone uses this sample on their next track? Because i'm open to that.

The sample is cliche now but its certainly as good a time as any to correct karma. This is awesome.

Re: Mission Creep again
Iv posted another mix of this. The main change is that the intro is no longer self indulgent and pure functional. What funny is that I remember thinking the mix was right before. But its even tighter now because I mixed it down from scratch. It may sound quite quiet as this is the mixed version with...

Re: Chabo - White night
https://soundcloud.com/chabomusic/chabo-white-night Pretty cool. I think there are a number of problems but it feels like an early tune of yours. So its perfect that you have finished it. Now finish more, and often. The main problem for me is the arrangement. If I were you I would use another tune ...

when i look at genre lists I see lots of sub divisions. House > Deep House > Soul House > Electro House > Hard House.

define unique. What is unique to me may have been heard before. So just do what feels right.Plyphon wrote:Rather I was hoping/aiming for a more general "what processes should I be looking at to make unique, danceable sounds from synths"

Re: Sounds to fill it all up
Remembering of course that there is more to the stereo image than hard left and hard right.
Just saying
the next lesson would be 'to make it sound bigger you could try lowering some volumes.' and if that’s not doing it then lower the volumes of specific frequencies using an eq'.

Re: What is your Mixdown process once you've finished compos
I do it as I go but I think that can only get the sound, feel and arrangement. Once I am happy with all that I do a structured mix down. After a whole bunch of procrastination of course (I think that mix down is the 'work' part of music) . I currently have 8 - 10 tracks waiting for a mix down. >Step...

In ableton the vocoder default removes all tonality from the sound so its good for noise scaping.winston wrote:i saw a video on youtube where the guy was saying he put a Vocoder on things in Reason and didn't change any of the settings, because it coloured the sound in a pleasant way.

Re: Convince me why I need to start using these effects
I tend not to use flanger. But i used it at max settings on a sustaining sound with plenty reverb to pull out that 'the sky was pink' sound on a track. Sounded really cool - kind of underwater whale song thing - going to do it again soon I think. I tend to go with liberal use of a phazer. I like tha...
