Re: A guide of Submitting unsolicited Demos to Records Label
there's no such guide as submitting demos. it's like pickung up a girl on a party or having a girlfriend - there are 10000000 guides but there isn't The Guide. There's too many variables and every situations differs. But for sure - If you can pick up a girl, you can find a label to release your mus...

Re: A guide of Submitting unsolicited Demos to Records Label
and of course you still can release on a crappy netlabel if you want (like having an affair with an ugly girl) Netlabels dont have to be crappy or ugly, they're often just cheap dates. Nothing wrong with that. of course there are a lot of good netlabels, i was just talking about the 75% crap one

Re: Techno: What, How and Why
if the question was "what brought you into techno?", i just have to say it's because i saw something on tv with people dancing 12 hours with no breaks because they took ecstasy. and then i wanted to know.
then it's the same old story i guess..

Re: Techno: What, How and Why
my goal is to make good tracks, and express something without words.
i'm not interested by becoming famous, but a little recognition would be welcome haha.

Re: A guide of Submitting unsolicited Demos to Records Label
If your music is good, then people will take it. Everyone who is releasing that is popular today, or legendary, has been through the same process. I`m not saying don`t self release. But if you just give up because a few labels reject you or don`t reply, you are in the wrong business. i'm 50% agree....

Re: A guide of Submitting unsolicited Demos to Records Label
Ah now this is why I try to keep the releasing of my own material off of my label, or down to a minimum at least. It is hard to make any kind of evaluation of it, there is no objective third party, no other filter. Self releasing if fraught with it`s own problem of plaguing your "history" with pote...

Re: A guide of Submitting unsolicited Demos to Records Label
DIY is fine, but promotion, artwork, mastering is a bitch. And you aren`t part of anything. What I like about labels is being part of something, in relation to the ethics, the artistic vision, the other artists etc. Strength in numbers. yes but it's still better than releasing nothing at all, and y...

Re: A guide of Submitting unsolicited Demos to Records Label
Serious labels will always be relevant. The others, you can do without them! With more options coming selling directly to customers via streaming services etc and stuff like Bandcamp it's better to do it yourself mostly. Pay for mastering and artwork (if needed) and fix a page and you're done. yes ...

Re: A guide of Submitting unsolicited Demos to Records Label
on a larger scale, are labels relevant today?
at the vinyl age they were usefull but now?
most of them don't seem to make promotion, they barely make the mastering.
why give them your music?

Re: A guide of Submitting unsolicited Demos to Records Label
is it relevant to send unsolicited demos?
if you don't already have a name or a connection?
i think i will never send again any unsolicited demo, it's a waste of time.

Horrible, but I did admire the simplicity back then. All the programming is so extremely straight, its kind of a foreboding for progressive and minimal.
