Re: Albums vs EPs vs Singles

Nice to work on the artwork side of it too, linking each release and refining the visual side of it.
Good luck with it either way ..

Re: Albums vs EPs vs Singles

When it comes to techno, mixes are my main way to listen to/find new stuff. Been so long since I bought anything but that's not out of being scabby, just that mixes serve their purpose for me. If it was me, I would think 3 singles and maybe 2 ep's. It gives your stuff a chance to find it's way out t...

Re: Is Beatport just a joke?

I found out there is another issue with beatport that I never thought before. We run a small indipedent label trying to do mostly techno and we do not have a beatport account. We do not believe in beatport. But.... the artists do! We received some demos recently and some were really good (from our ...

Re: keep your ears fresh!

I find it difficult to see things through. It's been a long time since I got excited about what I'm doing. I miss that, getting a buzz out of it. That's what it's all about in the end ..

Re: Mono under 80hz

It's a great thing to have two heads in the mastering game on here from the start. The fact that ye differ on the subject is good too and you both have a different background and approach, means people asking have to think for the themselves. Think that's the upside of checking in on this forum. +1 ...

Okay, I know.
Apologies Tom (before you check in!).
I know that was totally unwarranted.
Just gone off on a rant, and it was uncalled for.
I think if the passion is there, then, no matter what your situation, you have to make time. Prob just annoyed with my own situation and trying to handle it...

Tom, don't mean to be disrespectful but do you have any notion of how good you have it? There's people on this forum that haven't a bean and your crying about doing 7 to 7? I do the same hours and I know the score, coming home and basically going to bed. I'm on here a while and I know you have class...

Re: Commitment

I walked away from being balls deep in music at one point It was a conscious decision at the time, but still don't know why. Just a gut decision. Think it might be because I didn't want it to be the "be all and end all" for me. I would hate for it to be a "job", the fear I would somehow become insen...

Re: Subsekt members track mix 2016/2017

I would say the level of enthusiasm isn't quite like the first time around. I was actually thinking of doing something for this, even though I have no idea how it would pan out cos never pushed things to any great level, but it's a good motivator in itself. The last mix was an eye-opener in terms of...

Re: Reference tracks

Byetone's Death of a Typographer is quite good i find for referencing. Wide variety of clean frequencies and textures. Raster-Noton output is generally very strong in terms of final mastered product. Senking material also. Yeah, love it. Byetone, Alva Noto, etc. Would also include Aoki Takamasa's s...
