Re: EQing out the resonances
Recently I watched many Rick Snoman videos. He is talking a lot about and is cutting loooots of stuff/resonances. Many times I can't even hear them. Now I don't when or when no to cut. I'm confused. Glad I’m not the only one! Rick is chaining up 3 channel EQs because he keeps running out of bands, ...

Re: Mix Bus Compression Guide
And any advice on which Mk of MJUC you guys prefer and why? It's in Steve's first post... With the MJUC I recommend you start with the Mk2 setting as it is a good middle ground between the mk1 (very program dependent, fairchild like) and the mk3 (less program dependent, much more reliant on your at...

Re: The 4 hour challenge.
Here's my attempt; https://soundcloud.com/user4960487/four-limited I mixed into buss-compression (ala Steve's recent guide) for this, and learned that: - I find it hard to hear compression release time - perhaps because I have too much bass - 10 tracks is not enough - you can get a lot done in four ...

Re: Mix Bus Compression Guide
I have a question about how this relates to the advice in the Home Mastering thread;
Is the mix buss compression you describe here the same as one of the two compressors you describe in the mastering chain, or would this be separate and done in advance?

Re: Mix Bus Compression Guide
I've played with this on a few of my own tunes, as well as your example project file (thanks again).
I'm struggling to set the release time. Attack is fine as I can listen out for the bite of the kick drum but the release seems really subtle. Any tips for what to listen out for?

Re: ---- Elektron User Topic -----
For some weird reason the rytm and the a4 aren't running in sync when used via over ridge. Though after the OS update I was asked to calibrate the machine after two hours. Hadn't much time to play around yesterday and I hope the calibration will fix it. If not, ideas what the cause is anyone??? Are...

Re: ---- Elektron User Topic -----
Have you got any vids or tracks with the AR yet Bram? I've enjoyed watching / listening to what you've posted online. Afraid not. My mate and I are currently working on a live PA with the Rytm (or two!) at the heart, so haven't been focussed on creating tracks much lately. On friday I got an FMR RN...

Re: ---- Elektron User Topic -----
I got an AR a few weeks ago after borrowing one from a friend. It's my first hardware drum machine (unless you count electribe 2) but I'm totally loving it. It sounds incredible and is a lot of fun to use. It just oozes techno once you get into it; the master distortion and compressor are sweet. Wis...

Re: Monitor headphone recommendations
+1 for AKG. Recently got the K712 pro and they're lovely. If in-ears are your thing then etymotic ER-4P sound great (but they make my ear canals itch after about an hour).

Re: Synthesis help
http://www.syntorial.com/ Oh no, that's terrible. so, did you try it out ? and if so, what didn't you like about it ? Syntorial is excellent in my opinion. I was already at a half decent standard of synthesis when I started with it but have still learned a huge amount. It starts off easy, but I'm n...

I've read (possibly on Gearslutz) about people using the Headphone plugin alongside Waves NX, so I expect it will work fine with redline monitor (same idea).

Re: Help - Ableton not exporting to wav properly
What synth is it, what format are you using (VST, AU?) and is it a pirate copy? A lot of plugin manufacturers put copy protection in their code which can cause strange behaviour if it detects an illegal copy.
EDIT: That SoundCloud link doesn't work for me.

Blanck Mass
Just came across this. Saw Blanck Mass at ATP a few years ago and he was good. Apparently he's one of Fuck Buttons. I quite like his style thought some of you might like it.

Re: The Legendary MPC Groove !
It seems more applicable to half bar mirroring, whereas techno (unless you are doing my kind of half-step battleship, bullshit type of techno) tends to lend itself to quarter bar mirroring. Do you mind elaborating on that a bit as it's something I haven't really thought about? When you say half bar...
