Equipment - Bag - Flight....???

At the moment I am preparing my live set-up so have to figure a way travelling safe with my gear too. Have you ever seen the gear Skudge bring on stage ? I bet all these can not travel in a couple of handbags, right :) Aren't they afraid of loosing a bag after they check it in ? I wonder what happens...

Re: Thoughts/Advices 4 setting up a live in a club without c

I have watched some videos with octatrack and mpc workflow. at the end I hate to say it but I feel a computer will always be far more effective than any other compact solution, for many obvious reasons. I think will try to work with a macbook pro ( i5 model) , APC40,Fireface800 RME,and 2-3 pedals (re...

Re: Thoughts/Advices 4 setting up a live in a club without c

thanks for the input on the mpc1000,will have to check this. another question is how do you travel with let's say 2-3 desktop machines,a couple of pedals, cables etc ? can you take all of them into a bag that will be considered a hand luggage ? putting them in a bag as a proper luggage on a plane is ...

Re: Thoughts/Advices 4 setting up a live in a club without c

Thoughts/Advices 4 setting up a live in a club without cpu

Let's say I have 8-10 tracks that I want to play them "live" in front of an audience in a club and don't want to use a computer. Those tracks are mainly techno tracks with no particular instruments like a guitar or keys, what I mean is that all the parts of the tracks are bounced(sampled and resample...

Re: Kicks to sample

I did sample some Surgeon kicks when I was starting out, thinking it could bring me those pounding, heavy kicks. Only to realize that the sounds before and after that kick makes half of its sound. My advice would be : don't think too hard on kicks, keep it simple (eq, light compression, some "textu...

I own the MKII version,I really like it,its very special, whaever you send throught it can become really angry and give and organic feel to it,I think its a powerful sound-design tool.MK1 should be similar and only lack some features,I think it,check it out.

Re: Getting into a different headspace

I just try to have fun in the studio !!! I listen to music, mainly techno,I get inspired and when I feel cool with my self I start playing with my machines.

if you are not having fun in the studio I think you are doing something wrong, that's rule No1.

Re: Opinions and motivational feedback

How do you create connections at this day and age when everything is online and when you try to speak to a DJ/Producer they instantly thinks you want something from them and are backing off? I mean, i'm 31, for the last 6 years i have been living all over Europe (originally from israel) and me (and...

Re: Dark Time and Ableton

master clock is ableton !
dark time slave !

you change the bpm then you need to re-adjust the timing, your project gets busier with more vst then you might need to re-adjust it. for me it can be 20ms some other times 40ms it was around 90-100 the other day..

Re: Dark Time and Ableton

Have you tried adjusting the midi delay in the preferences? You go into the device preferences and press the little arrow next to the midi port, irrc. It's a small arrow and it's a really easily missed part of the preferences. When expanded it gives you a slider you can use to manually adjust the t...

Re: this damn kick! how!?

Ears are often easily fooled. It's usually just a standard 909-derived kick, it's the rest of the music that makes the kick work, not vice versa. If you work on the kick alone you'll just end up tweaking it meaninglessly for hours and wondering why it doesn't sound like it does on some good records...
