I think Mattias pattern is perfect but I will add a little shuffle (like a roll or something) at the end of the 8th or 16th bars to anticipate the next bars, also sometimes I used triplet pattern to give a jazzy flavour.

I love rides, sometimes I try to shuffle them a bit or use groove pattern to give some groovy going, but rides are always highly enjoyable, when they start to flow you can feel the energy and the warmth spreading around. love the rides! usually I cut the high freqs and the mid-low as well try to kee...

what Sam is saying is true but because today is very easy to get released thanks to small and upcoming labels, many of the labels (this is my experience at least) don't invest in nothing, not even promotion. Many of them not even pay for the mastering, they only distribute tracks on major music web ...

its one big achilles heel for me. mixing has been the hardest thing for me for a while now, and i'm still not completely sure what it is. that's my weak spot also, I am never happy with it even after frying my ears out for hours... I have to say that little by little I think I am improving a bit......
