Re: help! mixing console for recording and live
I think this thread might be helpful when you're talking about mackies and "classic techno" overdriven sound: http://www.subsekt.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4903 Yes I know. I read that before posting :), anyway, not sure if the VLZ PRO make this overdrive techno and if its pre amps are really that bad?

Re: help! mixing console for recording and live
Well, they are all second hand! but i am here in argentina, hehe. Remember that i need one mixer to record and play my music and to records bands and doing live at pub/club, so low cuts, inserts, various aux send, 16 XLR IN, and mid sweep eq are welcome. I like VLZ PRO above all because of its mid s...

Re: help! mixing console for recording and live
Thanks for the reply! It seems the most complete of 3. Tell me, can you overdrive with the pre-amps of your 1604 VLZ PRO as in Mackie CR 1604? Is it the same "classic techno" sound?OHADOHAD wrote:I have the 1604 VLZ PRO...

help! mixing console for recording and live
hi, subsekter. I wanted to buy an used mixing console for recording and playing live with my machines and, secondly, to record rock bands and doing live sound. I'm between these 3: - Mackie CR 1604 (U $ s 550) - Mackie 1604 VLZ PRO (U $ s 900) - Mackie 1642 VLZ3 (U $ s 800) so far convinces me more ...

Re: Korg Volca range
Anyone knows if with the Volca Keys you could sequence something in odd time signature, let´s say 5/8 or use something like the "last step" function in Roland Tr-707 and similars?

Re: two non techno odd time tracks
thanks willemb! apreciate your suggestions, i will work on that direction.
in the radioslave remix it seems like it only use the vocals from the verse, that may work for my remix, i think.
i am not a fan of vocals too.

two non techno odd time tracks
I made two remixes for an "indie" rock band from argentina. as the title subject says, is not techno but it is very loopy and have a lot of odd measure time. the thing is that i like the music arrangement, but i am not so sure of the vox line, maybe some suggestions may help. https://soundcloud.com/...

Re: Polyrhythms
Thanks UN!T. I will check them!
The Doepfer MAQ/16 is an option, since I read that Silent Servant use one of these to sequence his polyrhythms. a little pricey for me right now.

Re: under £100 pedal / external fx recommendations ?
Sounds warmer, I guess. You get the chip of the old ProCo for 2-3 dollars (and it is not hard to find) instead of buying an old ProCo pedal used at an expensive price. Then you could choose which chip sounds better to you, using a socket. here you have more info: http://www.harmonycentral.com/forum/...
