Re: My health is such a mess

What's happened Is that blokes on an internet forum have made off the cuff threats of violence which in any sensible discussion would not be perceived as an actual threat. It's just hot air. Childish and unwarranted? Yep, probably. But an actual threat? Nope. "hot air"? That's a convenient argument...

Re: My health is such a mess

here you're readily supporting assaulting some journalist over and unsubstantiated rumour. Get a fucking grip. If said journo is happily boasting about it, it's hardly unsubstantiated, is it? We don't know who this Finnish Journalist is. We don't know what he said, who he said it to - or if he even...

Been a fan of Shackelton's stuff for years. The vinyl version of this one sounds amazing:

Re: My health is such a mess

People have been ignoring the rules in bars since the beginning of the pandemic. Barfunkel decided to chance it anyway, which makes it at last partly his own fault. This sounds a lot like victim blaming. You can call it that, if you like. In my opinion, going to a bar during a pandemic means that y...

Re: NFTs

If someone wanted to launder money, the limited/non-existing legislation for NFTs makes them interesting. New rules and regulations are probably already under way, but since few people in power understand the technology and its implications in sufficient depth to be able to formulate loophole-free l...

Re: 2022 Happy New Year and plans and shit and bollocks

Hello all, firstly Happy Midwinter and Joyous New Year to you all. I apologise for not being around much, in general in fact. Not into new year resolutions and such, but here`s some brain dump. I`ve been very lax in this place, intermittent in interaction and stuff. I do apologise, there are a myri...

Viridian Lineage - Thai Ritual

Cultural appropriation of someone's house-blessing ritual (a Buddhist monk chanting in someone's newly bought house). Hi-hats are from a Norwegian woman dragging a sleigh over asphalt and a Jomox drum machine. The small bells are from an antique child's toy. Noise from a spooky video of someone walki...

Re: Lan5 - Turbulent Flow

Did I make it or did I just like the parts that the synth created for me? The way I see it, it's similar to other kinds of sampling. If you're sampling a singing bird in the park, a James Brown record or a freewheeling modular synth, claiming that you made the original sounds would be wrong. But it...

Re: Merry Christmas everyone

As are permanent decorations, potted plants & artsy stuff.. I think. Yes, I suppose you're right. Didn't mean to sound snippy btw. I guess I've just met so many people over the years complaining about their too small apartments that I found it surprising. I can totally see how packing away the deco...

Everything looks bare & dusty AF.
Perhaps you could arrange some more permanent decorations?

A few potted plants and some artsy stuff can make a huge difference to a room :geek:

Shadow Wolf Cyberzine

In case you missed it, Danny Wolfers recently released a new edition of his cyberzine. The included "covertape" has some of the most inspired stuff I've heard for a while (many tracks are by Wolfers himself under various aliases). The text is good fun and also contains some hidden gems for synth gee...

Re: Lan5 - Turbulent Flow

At first the hardness of this pushed me away (it's a pretty aggressive sound), but after hearing it a few times my mind somehow adapted. I thought about what it is that I like about it, and realised it has sex appeal. I'm not sure that helps though. It's very well made. Did you mix the bits together...

Re: Drum & Bass Pattern

Bassline needs more high/mid content its to dull Hihats and all high drum sounds are too sharp and need some treatment (shelf eq /filter) Groove is nice somehow The bass does sound a bit dull on it's own, but I really like the way it mixes with the chord arp when that is on. Perhaps I could make a ...

Re: This political nonsense got me thinking about underground musicians

However, the current state of things makes me feel we might reach a point in which the negative will overcome the positive, and there will be little chance for hermits to roam around and their numbers will dwindle, and dwindle hard, just like the planet is being overwhelmed by pollution and global ...

Groovy :D A bit heavy on the bass compared to classic tracks in the same style, but that's all right too. Thanks 4 sharing!

Re: This political nonsense got me thinking about underground musicians

The way I understand the phrase: "The revolution will not be televised", is that it refers to spiritual enlightenment. Since spiritual enlightenment takes place in the mind of a person (their mind is what is becoming enlightened), you can't film it. So you won't see it on TV either. Enlightenment is...
