Re: sonarworks 5.

You get 2 instances per license, so you can split the cost with a friend. I have a mate locally with whom I share the mic to calibrate whenever room or setup changes, makes it a lot more affordable.

Re: Studio Build dilemma

Nice one, I found this which has perfect dimensions for 2x traps

https://www.ikoustic.co.uk/products/flo ... ier-10kgm2

for not too much £££, will give it a go!

edit: delivery same price as product, hopefully can find something local instead.

Re: Studio Build dilemma

Is it possible to DIY something similar to those L10 limp membrane traps? Can't find any details on the construction, I already have earthwool and tools to make broadband absorbers. If they're similar to the GIK traps then it's just a limp membrane on the front and earthwool behind it with an air gap.

Re: Nearfield Monitors

Any recommendations for nearfields around £2 - 3k for a really small space? Result6 looks like a good option but can't get over how ugly they are. Geithain RL906s also look like a good option, nice and small. Using ety er4xrs for monitoring low end. How useful and accurate are the ety er4xrs (or an...

Re: Studio Build dilemma

Yeah, I have a bit of a budget, was thinking up to about 5000Euros for acoustic treatment and build (and I can & will build things myself) and then in addition to that I have a budget for new monitors, furniture, cables etc.. Not a huge amount compared to others but still ok. But I think my reality...

Re: Nearfield Monitors

Wouldn’t this be a step down from current set up (rm-07s + sonarworks)? I was thinking of moving down to 5 inches but more than willing to give these MTMs ago if they’re more appropriate for a shoebox.

Re: Nearfield Monitors

Room is 1.8 x 3 to give you an idea of how small I’m talking, and this is my space for foreseeable future but we’re looking at bigger places soon. Using RM-07s w/ sonarworks at the moment to mix at low vol but have some money to upgrade and feel like the 6.5inch woofers overpower the space a bit, so...

Re: Affordable EMS Synthi??!!!

What was their lead time for other synths they’ve cloned, from leaks to having a finished product?

Re: Affordable EMS Synthi??!!!

Portabella is 6000 eur plus VAT. Less than 6 month wait time. Erica are bringing out a synthi a-like but with different guts. Digi matrix allows patch recall but they chose to use etch-a-sketch style navigation rather than pushing the individual buttons (would be better). https://www.ericasynths.lv/...

I've got a pair of AKG702s I can sell you, in excellent condition. You'll need a headphone amp as noted above.

Re: Dreadbox - Medusa

i'm confident this will blow the behringer out of the water, every DB is a pure vibe machine. i think ultimately it comes down to whether you prefer to work with patch storage or not; if so, get the SE-02, otherwise get the medusa.

If you're serious about going, try Eventbrite as there has been another release of tickets in the last week or so. Failing that, if you e-mail them they might be able to sort you out.

Re: Dreadbox - Medusa

had the nyx, absolutely loved it but ultimately its quirky routing didn't open up as many interesting possibilities as I thought it would. for me, it would have made more sense as a product if the LFOs were syncable so you could do interesting rhythmic stuff with the 2 filters. trying to sync by ear...
