Strongly endorse Repro. It's one of my favorite plugins. More focused than Diva but also can sound dirtier. Basically a pristine Pro-1 and Prophet 5 coupled with lots of additional sound design tools.
Re: Behringer Pro-1
The one cool thing about the (not even gonna say 'real' ) physical Pro/Bro1 is having the ability to quickly tweak everything until you get a sound that fits. There are some really nice cv points on it that are ripe for fucking around with. There is a different, classic vibe that you probably can't get with the software, unless you can gate/trigger a midi pattern or something into it, to affect the gating of notes, or filter etc..
Definitely not intended as a software/ hardware debate starter.. but you really start getting some wild shit with the pro1 when it's hooked up to stuff.
Theres an arp in M4L essentials.. simply called Arp. You can draw in the notes you wish to gate. Like a pattern. For some of that old vibe it's cool to use it, without octaves & play the riff on your midi keyboard, 'walking' around a few notes as the Arp pattern does the work. Kinda like cv trigger in.
Love using the pro1 mod dials for variation.. almost using them to play notes or make a call/ response Melody.
