Sound Design streams against isolation

Post by rktic »

Hey,

last week, I decided to provide a music production/sound design/synthesis/patch programming stream every two days. Next one is scheduled for tonight, building upon the last one about Wavetable Chords, Pads and Drones.

Will start at 20:00CET here:
youtu.be/p7uv1oV57DE

In case you're interested in the session before, which includes timestamps as well as the files:
https://youtu.be/TBJQEGjXBQg

Let's see where this one's heading to.

Cheers
Ronny

You're welcome, Martin!

Turns out, yesterdays session was about starting something fresh, getting stuck along the way, navigating out of the rut again. I added very detailed timestamps to the description about my processes.

I like the idea of using the WT Position like a kind of filter modulation.

Sounds excellent, look forward to it. I was present on the dub techno live stream a few years back (when we were all cooking in the heat!), very helpful.

Thank you guys!

Next stream tonight is about having fun with four saturators in series. And Wavetable. So, it's time for Ableton again. Focussing on sound design, exploring possibilities and shit. 20:00CET here:

That was good fun!

In case anyone's interested, what we came up with:

In order to spare you the hassle of going to YT to download the files, if you're interested:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bvoak7v2iutgt ... n.als?dl=0

Bonus patch:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gst4ckr9etprk ... r.alc?dl=0

Of course, I added a stupendous amount of timestamps again, which I'll spare you here ;)

And I very much appreciate every Like, subscription, share in terms of support. I need to cater to the algorithms right now and these tiny things do help!

Big shout out Ronnie, I watched the grumpy old man video in full and it’s instantly helped my own process, seeing how much time you spend on an individual lead sound - the ID of the track - and then spend time on the sound design of other elements around that. I’d previously been designing sounds in isolation, and trying to mix in context, but I suppose that’s why people say mixing as you go is a fundamental part of techno production.

I have just been following along with the Droney techno video, excellent video. I have mostly ignored the wavetable synth until now. Had loads of fun playing with it today.

I feel like a bit of chump owning the amount of VSTs that I do when one of the the built in Ableton synths sounds this bloody good!.

Great videos Ronny.
