Behringer MS-5
Disclosure: I'm not a fan of behringer. I think the poor quality complaints from the past were justified, but they don't seem to apply anymore as far as I can tell, the modern stuff is fairly well built. It's mostly the shady attitude/business practices that put me off.
However, I think they did a pretty good job with some of the recreations.
I'm not going to pretend that this particular synth is a perfect clone, because I have no experience of the original, so I'm not qualified to comment on that. What my ears are telling me though, is that this particular synth has probably the broadest 'sweet spot' of any analogue mono synth released in the last couple of decades.
Or maybe it's just that these sounds are the ones that tickle my palate.

I think you might be the last person is this dusty town.
I'll say that I've been impress2d with most of Big B's stuff I've gotten. Some of the Euro modules that they recreated could have used a little bit of updating and quite a few of their synths sound the same to me without any unique characteristics. The ones I liked a lot were the Model D, Kobol, Pro 800, the Syncussion, and the Pro 1. I heard that the Cat is pretty good as well. I had the Neutron, and it sounded good but the delay and distortion weren't to my liking, too tame. That's the weird thing about it.
This looks pretty rad, but I've no space for it. I'll probably grab a Proton, as that looks like all the best bits of the Neutron, . the pieces that were lacking.
Hopefully Behringer can take all this experience with Synth building and keep pumping out originals. They certainly have the engineers for it, and I'd like for them to utilize them and push the synth game forward. We'll see.

Ha! Someone has to keep the lights on. There are the occasional appearances from people, hopefully it will pick up again at some point.
I think that stems (at least partially) from using the same chips in a lot of stuff.

Yeah there seems to be certain ones that are almost universally recognised as being VERY close to the originals, or if not, just good in their own right. Others not so much (looking at you, K2).
Yes, the focus seems to be on recreating 'classics', but at some point they will run out of them and then they'll have no other option but to knock out more things like the Neutron, Proton etc.
