Asm Hydrasynth desktop.
It may not be preferable to the desktop, but just in case you weren't aware they just announced the Hydrasynth Explorer.

Also, maybe keep an eye on the Superbooth next weekend for more announcements from manufacturers.

I mean what I really want is a waldorf Iridium, but it's a bit too big sizewise, and fairly pricey.
Way too pricey for me. Someone mentioned here MFB, got me curious so I'll do research on these and check demos as there seems to be some secondhand options that are more within my wallet's reach

I saw that and thought it was a reduced power version.
But it's actually the full engine. Nifty.
However it's the same size as the desktop, but with less controls and a keyboard I don't need.
But it is cheaper.

I'm liking it more and more though, it's a very very interesting synth.

It is pricey, but hugely powerful and genuinely fresh and innovative. Whereas usually for this price you just get yet another poly analog blah or overpriced elektron gear, so I would say it worth it.
But yeah, that's a stinger. Not something I'd want to cart around to gigs.

From their sound demo, yes it looks insanely powerful, a film score composer's wet dream.
Extra points for the trippy visuals, some are pretty cool.

And Waldorf just announced the M: https://www.waldorfmusic.com/en/m - sorry if that makes the choices even harder!

Wow that thing seems pretty cool.
These mod options are nice and the sequencer seems cool too
2 osc mono + filter is a bit standard though

What do you think about the filter?
Can you also mod the waveform with the lfo? They say you can seemingly blend from eg sine to saw
So with the mod options that would almost make it wavetable

Theres a loopop vid on the norand mono that shows alot of its capabilities!
Damn i want that synth now, such a cool user interface and sound and endless possibilities.
So kronk if you dont use it, i promise i would make one track per month with it, if you could send it over 8-)

you can mod essentially everything & very easily too.... from a useability perspective its as good as ive used. filter is good to my ears.
i have no time at the moment for music making (nor will i for the next while) but made a stack of stuff with the mono when i initially got it.
you send me money, ill send you it & you can make as many tracks per month as you like :D
