I'm trying to figure a way of letting people reply to threads , but not make new ones.

I saw that forum post (same as above), but it didn't have a reply button, just that Locked image.

I think I might know a way how to do it.

If you edit the permissions for the registered users (and all other users except admin and mods etc) of this part of the forum, you can then set limited access (or another one or more limitations) to the page.
