Re: interface Kontrol 2 vs Motu m2
check the Gearslutz forums, there's a multi-page thread on the m2/m4 in the 'new release' section (though it's mostly full of questions just like yours). reviews look good from people who have one, but these have been hard to come by so far (Sweetwater finally just got some back in stock) and not ma...

Re: Korg Odyssey hardware and plugin
i've got the iPad/Gadget version and the VST (haven't used that much at all for some reason, keep forgetting that i have it and the other Korg stuff). really impressed with those at least, the note/mod sequencer on the standalone is awesome. there's a nice old freeware VST version as well (a few, bu...

had an E-mu e4X for a few years. amazing for the time (still is for the most part), but i wouldn't screw with it now unless i was strictly hardware.

Re: What Was The First Synth / Electronic Track You Remember Hearing?
no idea, but heard plenty of synths growing up on MTV in the early 80s.
however, i do certainly remember the first track that made me want to buy a synth and make electronic music:

Re: How did your parents influence you musically?
both were born in '55 and grew up on 60s/70s rock, i spent my early years listening to the local "classic rock" stations hearing much of the same (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc). wouldn't have wanted it any other way, led to my great appreciation for Motown, classic blues, and so much else.

Re: Behringer monosynth
Why are you torn over behringer? You buy dem shitty Roland plastic fiddle box boutique things and worry about behringer? Their synths are solid. sorry that we keep going 'round like this, but... the Roland Boutiques are some of the most solidly built and well engineered "lower end consumer" product...

Re: Behringer 303
they're listed at $149 on Sweetwater now (was $199 for a few days), but on pre-order. no expected date listed, some places are saying February 2020.
$149 for this is pretty astounding. looks rather "cheap" though, their designers really do a horrible job most of the time.

Re: Behringer 303
... Not sure if you realize it, but TB-03 has a "regular" mode of entering notes, in addition to the legacy one. It also has 2 randomizers: one is for everything and one where it keeps the current notes, but only randomizes the slides, accents, and octaves. yes, thanks. i was just talking about the...

Re: What non-techno are you listening to right now?
Currently listening to the Mike & Rich - Expert Knob Twiddlers album. Mike Paradinas / μ-ziq & RDJ haven't heard that in forever, bought the CD at least twenty years ago but sold it off at some point. for some reason i was a big u-Ziq fan when i was first getting into electronic music, i was really...

Re: New Wavesfactory plug
i haven't kept up on all the "tape" plugins released over the past couple years, but tried this one out and ended up buying it. has some interesting internal compression/movement thing going on, not really interested in the wow & flutter part of it. i guess i could do something similar with subtle c...

Windows actually hasn't updated in months now, says it's missing some sort of file. not sure if that's good or bad.

... Im fortunate enough to have a TT303 & A MC202, so I understand a little of what it's like already, in a way. I certainly appreciate the learning curve & the reward of getting to grips with the features of stuff. ... The sequencer looks easy to use, its only the amount of key presses that look d...

Re: Behringer 303
... the sequencer part, but that computer tool thing looks shite. Fuck using the computer. It's counter intuitive clicking around to make a pattern. It's all about choosing your notes, going back & doing your octaves, slides, breasts, eh, rests,ties.. then going back & doing almost a second pattern ...

a "local celebrity", i bought an MC-202 and Atari ST off him (he had consigned them at a shop here). actually, i think my Technics SL-1700mkII was his as well. unfortunately he hasn't done much of anything in about twenty years.
