Re: Drum synthesis
Mostly use field recordings. Yeah, i am getting more and more into it too. I love it. I'd love to get more into this. Are there some basic processing that's a good place to begin? I'm expecting most sounds doesn't behave like a drum skin. Do you then add pitch envelopes to it or is it more a compre...

Re: My first hardware synth...
lltb5P8gnPQ I might have found what I want... :o This one sounds amazing. OTOH, being a hardware virgin, I have question for everyone. How much would you say your productions changed (improved?) with adding first hardware synths to your studio? Was it a dramatic change? I have to justify a purchase...

I know it is slightly above your budget - but did you consider the analog keys from elektron? You may get one for 800€ with a bit of luck. wDViPmOm8aM I really love those machines from elektron. Especially the analog series.. what a fucking awesome sound. And plenty of options! Some people complain ...

Re: How do you guys play/generate the notes in your tracks?
It depends.. on modular i use a keyboard, but i am not good at playing in scale. In ableton i mostly draw in the notes. As i know how to "calculate" chords, it is way more harmonic as playing on keyboard. May sound not sexy to everyone, but who cares - i like math. I never had/have melodie...

How is your monitoring setup?

Re: Things I hate
you are right though, I don't think "hate" is the word either, all of this shit makes me far more sad than having me get "hate" feelings of any kind. And yeah, problem is people just don't want to think. But I guess that's exactly what the people in charge want us to be like : "Golly, by all means,...
